Footprints

It was no dream
As I looked behind
And saw that the only footprints
Left behind
Were mine
No one there
No one carrying me
As I walked all alone
On my own two feet
No god to claim
My struggles were his
Claim my glory
All of this
That I have worked
So hard for
He did not carry me
I made it on my own
Every little seed
It was me who sewed
Every fire pit
I braved through
And every reward
I earned myself
On my own two feet
With my bare hands
And firmly in my own footprints
Is where I stand

Seems kind of lonely by yourself... It's good to accomplish things on your own, but I guess I feel we learn more when we have that help guiding us a long. Maybe some of that help can come from god, I dont know... it's all I your interpetation of what motivates you, the external factors of the situation. This piece felt like it was suppose to be a coming out, a break away from god. But to me it was sad... it's lonely, it's only temporary accomplishment. Anyways nice piece, very thought envoking.
