i looked up

As i looked into a darkened sky
something odd caught my eye

this was something bright
it hurt my eyes but thats alright

i realized its a shining star
i want to touch, its too far

it lights the road in front of me
like before i couldent even see

as i walk ahead i keep my eyes on its glimmer
then all the sudden it starts to get dimmer

my eyes soon drop to the ground
as the darkness envelopes me all around

i wish to someday see this star again
and i walk forward until then

every step i take
is for that stars sake

for life will never again be right
unless i can see that lovely light

this is like that skit on the gang starr cd "moment of truth" where theyre talkin about how pioneers have to carry the torch in the dark. as for the last line, perhaps by not seein that light, you really are.

Kinda reminds me of finding something that later inspires you. As soon as you realize this it's gone. But you don't forget about it, you just know that it happened. That feeling you got I guess is all that matters. I feel the same about some things similar.

Stars always got this glare that's so noticeable. It makes you blink 'cause you think it's your eyes that's doin that lol. Anyways keep writing.

This was fun. Nothing of huge production types, but every entertaining. It flowed very well, nice and easy one the reader. nicely written, nicely done.
