Portrait Of A Boy

Some days I awake upon a cold, hardwood floor,
An aching body with frustrated thoughts and feeling so lost,
Laying amongst a darkened hallway,
With no sight of an end at either side of me...

(I must be dreaming...)

And as I look around. I notice a painting hanging,
With a framed portrait of a boy that seems all so familiar...

The eyes are scraped right out,
While tears of red rinse his cheeks,
And he knows not of a smile or even a frown,
Just a dead expression,
I wonder what it is, he could even be feeling...

And behind him rests an empty darkness,
With the faint view of a swarm of bitter people,
With each one of their backs turned away completely....

Above the child's head are darkened storm clouds,
Somewhat transparent to show the angels above.
Pointing their fingers down and laughing,
With a vague sight of horns piercing from inside,
Their own foreheads...

I begin to strech my hand out, to touch the painting,
Almost as if I wish I was there with him,
And as I do, it comes to life and I hear the crowds screaming,
Amongst the laughter of the angels.
As the boy suddenly begins to speak to me:

"You must find peace amongst the chaos you fear.
Sight is never required when it comes to wisdom or feeling.
While the world has their back turned on you,
Your own back has also began to turn itself.
So, don't ever label yourself as abandoned or hated.
I wear no smile, I wear no frown...I leave the world in question.
There is no joy achieved through my pain if it is not known.
Unlike most, they need to see it to know it.. They are weak-minded.

When you awake, you'll awake to what you've
Painted within this reoccuring dream.
I'm as reflective as your words, and what's reflected in those
Words is always another aspect of yourself.
We are one in the same... Just know you don't only use
Your eyes to see the world around you.
And with that simple fact alone, you see more then
You'll ever need to...

Don't ever doubt yourself..."

thats real talk right there. people need to take heed to those words spoke at the bottom. nothing is as it seems, its only when you surrender to the truth that the real battle begins.

that was seriously some of the illest shit i have ever read... very inspiring i will take some of that shit to heart word up. the concept was very interesting, the blue parts were aite, the bottom is what really fuckin dropped my jaw forreal

throughout this whole peace imagery was good, i was imagining some down trodden kid in a painting speaking to this guy who just woke up in this run down house. GOOD SHIT

After I read this, I was just flooded with all the emotions that you put on me as a reader and I was overwhelmed. I was searching for words like no other on how to complimant you and then I read Black's reply, and thought, its bad to rip off one's poem, but as for the reply it fits to damn well. =)

Personally This Was Too Long For My Taste, And The Beginning Didnt Catch My Attention Either, However The Message Was Indeed A Real One, And One I Think Everyone Can Relate To....

I like how u set the whole thing up...like the vague description of the painting to get the reader to visualize it but then in a sense u took the reader inside the painting to get the meaning of it. The only complaint i would have is that i thought the blue part need more detail for the picture. Other than that this was definately nice!!!
