The Poetry Realm needs the 3 reply rule back, BADLY.

The realm died. Every post has an average of 2-3 replies. It's ridiculous.

The realm is not dead, it does not need a 3 reply rule. But I'm pretty sure this is the wrong forum for this particular conversation and I'm also pretty sure you know that. Maybe you should follow the rules before you ask for new ones.

Yeah man I've been noticing the lack of replies in the realm man. I mean I can put the rule back but I know for a fact that's gonna make a lot of folk mad. Might even run some people out like last time. I've said many times though, if I put that up then we will have people who would just reply with something real short just to get those 3 replies out the way so they can post their work. Then people will be complaining about that.

I'm going to move this to the intercourse thougn. Tomorrow when I have the time, I'm going to make a thread about that. Asking the realm how would they feel about the 3 reply rule.

You dont need a 3 reply rule up in here ...Until after the 1st of the year shit in here is gonna be slow regardless, alot of people around here are highschool kid's, their gonna get out for xmas break soon, and holidays and shit ...It's just the time of year. Shit is just gonna be slow. I think we should just wait it out and see what happens.

MOST people in here are honorable enough to do the, you check mine ill check yours, bullshit...So if you want more replies reply more, It's just the way it seems to work. But I honestly think that a 3 reply rule would run people out of here, and make thing's in the realm less ..whatever..sometimes its good in here, and sometimes its bad in here, you just gotta take it how it is...but I'm definately against a 3 reply rule ...AND dont say cause I dont wanna reply neither cause I reply. I just dont want to be ORDERED too in order to post my own shit

its all about alliances to me
if i know that people are making a real effort to show appreciation for others than i got a lot of respect for that
and i do my best to make sure at least im not sleepin on them,
i never do it all at once though
just cuz i dont hit someone up right away means that im sleepin..

I know it's around that time when people are not around, but still. It's been like this for a WHILE.. not just recently. People aernt posting here because of the LACK of responses. Sure, some people are busy, but the lack of responses drive people away. Atleast with the three reply rule you get somewhat of feedback.

And oh god @ you not wanting to be forced to do something, I'd hate to see you at a job.

I have a job moron, I just dont want to HAVE to reply to three poems, all though, usually, I reply to alot more then that. I just think the 3 reply rule is stupid, and not going to help anything. And how do YOU KNOW that people arent posting here because of lack of responses, lol...There are 10+ poems on the first page with 4 or more replies, Your not going to get 50 replies in the first 5 days you've posted, give people a chance to get at shit. Mind~Soul doesnt reply to thing's until their at the bottom of the page, I know a few other people who do that too...I think thing's are fine in here, a little slow, but fine all the same.

Anyways I've always been against the 3 reply rule, just never seen any progression with it... it seems to do more harm then good

as for the 3 reply....doesnt work....been there done that.....we tried "pay it forward" and only me and ashes did that.....I've tried in depth feedback....only to be slept on myself....we've tried the post something and respond to at least 2 others.....and nothing works......

I PETITON WE TRY SOMETHING NEW AS A WHOLE....if things gonna be slow around here....then as poets we should take the responisblity to respone to each other....if someone respone to you - THEN YOU RESPONE back to their poem.....that should be automatic even though its not.....And maybe we should try what Mind-Soul does which is try to respone to 1 poem a day.....1 poem a day!!?!?!?!?....thats nothing....but imagine if everyone did that.....things would be moving instead of being stagnate art which is the current state I see the Realm in

Either way we go it all falls back on us as poets...we make the realm people not some 3 reply rule....it's us and our love for poetry which links our common goal....to write, share, and learn

I know my opinion kind of nulls itself because of the fact that I'm never really around anymore. I do enjoy posting my pieces, and the past few pieces I've put out there, have topped out at around 4 replies. It's ok to me though. I honestly don't mind. I am a college student though, and I don't have enough time to reply to everyone's pieces, especially with finals week coming up and everything. Studying is jsut too hard. I try to reply if I'm going to make a post, but I'm usually never around anymore. I would vote no for the reply rule, but that's just my humblest opinion. Regardless of what happens, I'll always be sticking around.

I dunno, I feel the time spent reading this thread would have been better spent reading and replying to poems. Dunno, I'm just busy. I reply and post when I can. I try not to post if I don't have time to reply. I really do feel the same as allnakey you guys seem like a couple of school kids. Well one of you actually is a school kid, so maybe bhitiah you should just be the bigger person and leave this crap out of our realm.

Seriously though, either way I'll be doing the same thing I do. People get personal when they write their poems, and to show it to others it takes a lot. So, I get personal with my replies. Most of the time anyway. Sometimes I gotta hit that backspace lol.

I don't think it'd hurt to put the "rule" back up for a few days or weeks, or maybe just one. When ppl. say "Rule" around here it's like "ooohhhh the rule is coming" but ::shrugs::, I don't see a big problem about it. Do what you can. To most poets here, it's not much of a big deal if their poem has less than whatever many replies. People do read.

really i do try to do that everytime i see someone reply to my work...
but sometimes i just cant get into what im tryin to read
so i just cant really reply to something i cant fully understand or at least make an attempt to fully understand
but thats all just about abstract
people see different poems in alot of different ways
it does work some what better when you really make strong efforts to give in depth replies
still their will always be some people just sleeping
either they are just so unaware of how it would help to make alliances,or thier just very busy
cant do nothin about some people sleeping that will just always happen

hopefully your in depth responses will rub off on some people though
thats all you can really do and expect...
