havin shit
to show for
the profits
imagine
workin years
sheddin tears
on your list
unemployments
next to apocalypse
and then they close
your offices
empty pockets
and promises
thats when
you gotta figure out
what
to tell your kids
imagine
sleepless nights
tears to fight
letters to write
lies
despite
you checkin
for a check
inside reply
like its an oasis
and the wells run dry
yet your pride
wont let you
tell them why
imagine
needing glasses
for an uninsured child
or one whos teeth
got holes
but still smiles
imagine
babylon
by the block
for miles
and add to that
bein black
like holiday styles

In the simple way that it was written..still I feel that it was really deep. It said beyond what it said...it was feeling in it ..to me it was a need..a want...but acceptance at the same time. I liked reading this..thank you for sharing.

Nicely written piece man. Reminds me of how I came up. Mother working 2-3 jobs just to keep me and my sister stomach filled. It's still like that now for most people and now that I'm older it seems worse because when you were younge you really didnt realize how bad things were. Young and Naive...

I am truly a fan of your style.. the first time I read something from you.. i figured by the structure it would probably have no relevance.. yet I was wrong.. I liked the description about the glasses and teeth problems for the children.. and yet a mic check for ones pride.. overall this was soul riveting.. peace!

this is a deep poem...the first thing that came to mind after i read was "war". I don't mean like guns and death but the war/struggle we fight in life...nice work.

the structure was extremely basic. but the theme of it shined through brightly. the basic structure of the whole poem brought more emphasis to it, which is good emphasis is key to good poems. this poem really made me think about all the things i have and others have and how thankful people need to be about it. great poem, keep makin us readers think.
