everybody has a gun to their heads.

the cold, steel barrel presses so.. subtley, against the mind..
almost hovering beside our temples

its like its not even there.

..when in reality it HAS been there
ever since the day we were conceived

we are living in FEAR..
fear of MOVING something, fear of turning
because that gun is always on our mind..

constantly holding our breaths..

cant even exhale.

theyre telling us to do this, and do that..
stay down, dont move

of course we OBEY and LISTEN..
nobody is gonna stand up
theyll get shot down

only a CRAZY person will go against what everyone else is doing..

right..?

well some say im crazy

i mean who cares if i DIE trying to ESCAPE..
my mind is DEAD already.
reduced to FOLLOWING what people EXPECT of me
following what everyone else is doing
not standing up because nobody else is standing up..

so im going to take a stand

ill be taking a risk..
but isnt thats what life is about?

who knows..

maybe that gun isnt even loaded..
NOTHING will happen
and everyone will realize how FOOLISH they were by succumbing

or maybe ill DIE for what i believe in..

either way ill come out a hero.

exactly i mean who cares if we really are fighting for somethin?
shit everyone wants people to support them but could never reutrn the support and love
than they wonder why us "crazy" cats become....
kind of contradictary if you ask me...

I liked this poem much better than the other one I had read. I think everybody in life has to stand up to something in their lives. Rather it be their parents, beliefs against others, your boss, god...etc. Dont see how you can become your own person without doing that. Nicely written
