Just Another Shade of Brown

A simple piece compared to some other work I've done, but I still like It. Comments would be fabulous....

In this world of empty morals
She steps to her soundless path.
Just another stranger floating by
Harmless to their soma, carefree of their craft.
Once in a moment they pause to measure
The hatred and her lack of bliss.
But she poses no threat to their world of morals
They'll merely brand her a terrorist.
Just another foreigner, they treat her the same
Small town jobs and worthless brains.
You know she's just another shade of brown
Push her to the bottom, farther to the ground.
The modern day utopia
A rendered version of the past.
Repeating and repeating
Unable to break the glass.
Don't take her word for it
It's probably as it seems.
She's merely strolling through assumption
Just another shade of brown.

Interesting piece.. Would this poem be about you? if so this is deep if not still deep... I like the imagery.. I felt it i felt that i was there observing this when this was going on... Real nice... I don't know about this being simplistic... i thought this was pretty deep... I guess it matters how you look at it....

This reminded me of someone being very much misunderstood. It seems like the world is trying to label her as somethign which she is not, and what the world labels her is not what it seems anyway. I was left a bit confused about the shade of brown though. Good piece, nice style.

take care

Thanks.. yes, it was about me. I have this habit of writing about myself in third person...

It does talk about being labeled in society and being an outcast. The shade of brown part deals with racism that the character experiences... yeah.
