I break every time the sun sets
I loathe the day my love left
I struggle over the beast within
The potent stench of sin
The alcoholic binge
The stains on your blouse
The encumbrance of a house
The bourbon that kills
The burden of pills
I’m so numb to the feel
Life is stress
The crushing in my chest
The lusting for rest
I break every time your phone won’t ring
I’ll never get use to the sting
I’ll just pull the cord and cut the string
What does my life mean?
Wash my hands but the blood won’t come clean
Things aren’t so serene
Life is stress
The crushing in my chest
The lusting for rest
I’m tired of the push and shove
Is there a god above?
Are there innocents in a dove…
