Thy Kingdom
The world around me changing before I do,
I try to catch up,
But the strongest once again survive,
I fall behind, lacking all skill,
Starving,
and slowly deteriorating.
My chances keep coming at me less and less.
I can see the water,
All stand around it,
I approach,
But I'm shoved off,
Sent to trudge on and I await.
The restrictions have locked me in a cell,
One impenetrable by air,
One causing my body to change pressure,
I'm reaching dangerous levels.
Where is the water?
These other "animals" nip at me,
Taking chunks from my shoulder while I remain here,
Watching them do it.
Numb to all pain,
I look them dead in the eyes while they do it.
Tears never roll,
But thoughts take control.
This insanity...

I try to catch up" I can definitely relate to that line.

This was a nice piece...I felt every line.

Looks like you were thinking about Darwin's Theory when you were writing this. Keep it up.
