-I'm Awake-

Some things emphasized with time have made me come to grips with the moral to certain chapters of life
I've realized, the most important things are not objects
They are not things.
Star-crossed, maybe possibly split..
But never faded; I am growing up.
I've realized, my dreams are in the palm of my hands
My small, small hands
Strong enough to hold the ambition from within
Still alive and expanding
Exceeding
Completing
yet so far from
completion.
It makes me wonder when tongues speak
Of how anticipation takes over
OF HOW they can't wait for "this to be over.."
..and I can't stop my mind from thinking
that this is the beginning.
Every morning
I am blessed
And somewhere in between an amen
and laying to dream I am still with that feeling,
of being
so blessed.
Some things emphasized with time over and over again
I am just now paying attention to how
precious Everything has been.
the joy, the sadness.
the tears, every laugh.
To love you is to see no shortcomings.
To love me, just love me unconditionally.
I have realized some of the most important things.
My heart is filled in abundance
My soul is filled with grace.
My life is in the right direction
I'm thankful for the change.

with all the problems in someone's life you need to remember of all the things you do have and the people that do support you in your life before you expect it to revolve around you and then it may disappear....
so i could connect with this

This was beautiful. Like a coming of age poem. I thought, my small, small hands was particularly powerfull, because it made the humilty of the poem shine. I really liked the realisation of that which was much more than material about life - something you have grown to value. I am realising his in my life too. This was a very inspiring piece, simple and pure. I admired it very much.

I love you so much ms, no matter how long i stay away whenever i come back your piece always inspires me and usually is the exact state of mind im in......loved this and could definetly relate!!! The imagery was beautiful, and the rhythmof the piece kept it flowing very nicely

That's exactly what I thought after reading this. The "small hand" line was on point. It's like you feel like you're growing and learning new things in life, but yet you still feel small with everything around you. A very inspirational piece. BRENDA IS ALL GROWN UP!

^^^The last sentence ... really really brought this home, (for me) b/c comparing the tongue speaking of wanting current events to "Be Over"... which is the present (feel me)... Your mind is thinkin past the present ... detailing the Current events are only learning lessons you will come to understand in the future,hence (This is the beginning)...

Great piece... I appreciate the feed on my poem, and it was definitely worth returning the favor!
