[headless verseman]

Locked, paralyzed between-

A cosmic tug of war,

Light and Dark-,

or grey...

Good and Bad are the same presently.

Expectations weigh like,...

Secret thoughts expressed casually

and have similar consequences of a loose tongue.

Who defines the unbeaten path?

Who denies the oncoming wrath?

Its as if I want to explore,

wondering what might be...

If I only had courage to trod

past the edge of the firelight.

I'm still connected to my pride,

and though another alpha male is threatening,

and our battle is imminent,

I stay-

Not refusing defeat, nor accepting his challenge.

I like this...but it felt like it shoulda had a beat to it. Im diggin it though

^The ending was nice. I hated how you double spaced it out like that though man.

I don't know why, but this poem reminds me of the people around my way. Stuck in one place and not wanting to do anything about it. Not wanting to better themselves in life. Just accepting what's thrown at them without putting up much of a fight. Failing is ok with me, as long as I know I gave my all. Good to see you around man.

hmmm I liked this one....it had that rhymethm to it....the repetution helped alot in this one...dont see much of that here....I dont know why....its how poetry originated....when it was spoken are chanted...and thats how this came across....

the whole tug of war metaphor was genuis I've used that before but I like where you took it....very nice....and the concept made it even better gave it that back and forth notion....like the game itself...and then the struggle is nothing but a game anyway....good and evil always at war....

so you find peace in the grey....in the middle....in the balance....in the losses...in the victory........interesting

thanks for the replies, especially to UFO. i know i ghosted, shit got too busy dog. sorry man. Writing for a living gets hectic, especially when you have a little buzz in some places, but have to wait on other people to progress my career....


glad that you liked the meta man.....it was done like an hour before my class, so there are a lot of tug of wars within that piece,
