I never thought he was a god, that night;
more like a velvet-pelted beast with stars
dripping as he rose out of the sea
to arch and show the world his awful height.

But when I felt his breath caress my face
and move my hair and mingle with my own,
I breathed then in the presence of a lord
and stilled as if being held in an embrace.

The rumbling of the surf became his voice
resounding in the marrow of my bones,
shaking all my memories and thoughts
until I was attending without choice.

And without choice I was soon swept away;
gone completely, while the night remained
luminous and moving, filled with being
of potent darkness brighter than the day.

Then he revealed a truth surpassing sight:
that light is drawn up from his font of dark,
and strewn like starry diamonds on black felt
our lives float on the living breath of Night.

If I Could Change the World, We Would Have Nothing.


Can We change the world?
Or do us silly starving boys and girls just feed into the lie?
Should we reach for the stars knowing we can’t trust blue sky?
a simple atmospheric reflection. Nothing worth touching.
And those stupid fucking stars we want to get our greedy hands on...
They are probably already dead.
And Im next and your next.
Shooting from moment to moment
with no clue to where we’re going
closing our eyes for the ride.
trusting the forces pushing and pulling
because there are so many things flying by
my head
I just don’t know what to believe in.

What if...
capitalism didn't define the measurement of status
what if we could feel universally loved
and respected
without all the bullshit
without the effort
without money
without possessions
would you still want them?


I wonder what we could accomplish with all that extra time....

Some room, downtown
We walked. I met him
With switchblades and

He laid under blue stars,
In a pool of remains, that
Remind professionals of
Vivid Summer serials.
His eyes were open. He
Was staring at Heaven.

Two nickels in each pocket.
Pennies covered his chest.
Paper demons: same old reason.

Run with passion untold.
Hide in nature's crevices.

When they see you, let
Them hear your rebel.

Let no one hear,
Burn them in a box of years.

everything is vague, and it's meant to insinuate that way.
all that appears, is not what one has.
One never touched it,
felt...
never Loved it,
enough.

tonight-

"before-I-let-you-go-away...can I get a kiss tonight..."

the song plays again, but at the wrong time
unctuously speaking;
not all are the same-nobody's the same,
and for a moment we see eachother differently.

it started to become a swindling change
that didn't take long to descend.
we look at eachother in the eyes of c h e a t e r s
who never win
-I said I'd be there-for anything
and now you found your way out of it.
Unsure of who's liable for the offense
we give up conflicting, on everything

when we almost gave up on us...

flawed my heart a mark
as I tore apart yours
wanting to be calm I don't wanna believe in how things
just up and changed (except that is, a reason but which)
you're so collected except for your feelings
me, taking it all in
"so is it like that-you don't care about us anymore?"
next I'm doin all I said I wouldn't do
deploring body language interfered by words
...everything I hear is richocheting.

he waits for me to grow tired
gathered into a broad chest with bear-like arms
how strong was this? if love makes one destructive?
in this case I was the effect under a cause
I feel should have never happened.
maybe you anticipated my reaction,
and let yourself be my target
we allowed little things to grow us apart
almost...
now we begin, again.

everything is lucid, and it was meant to insinuate that way.
all that appears to us, is what we have.
I have touched it,
I have felt...
we always loved,
we care too much.

this isn't about cheating on someone-it's simply about being there for someone you care about.

Well if any of them judges who like to make committments they cant keep.... it would be in the thread poetry slam round 2 judges. But... only a few of them showed up. How typical. Even commitments cant be kept. No wonder this place gives me the runs
