Do you share your poetry with others other then rm.com?

yeah... there's a cit www.poetry.com that has contests and it's a cool place to publish your poems for free

the only think that makes it weak is you have to pay for a copy of th e book your poems get published in... but it's still cool to et published there and keep track of em online

Only the realm and a girlfriend reads my personal ones...my teacher at school reads my school ones and thats it...its like a diary for me so thats all I like

yeah, they should be paying you.. that's exactly what I thought Madpoet, but after I submitted mine, it won an editors choice award and I get invited to some poetry conferece in Florida every year and it's pretty cheap

but I feel yall, it's hard to share your thoughts with a bunch of strangers.... especially at a site like this were fools will use your own emotions against you and rate your shit low when it had personal meaning for you...

all I can say is keep writing and be true to you

i share it to people who have respect for the art...for who knows, maybe it can help them through their struggles...but some of them that are too personal I only share with my boy and my girl

I have performed many of my pieces for classes at my former high school. My poetry teacher I had junior year really loved my stuff, and loves having me go in and show these kids a new kind of poetry that's not like anything they've really heard before or studied. She edits me sometimes, but only as far as to which pieces I LEAVE OUT of my presentation. I present for nearly 45mins and then the class has a discussion on how they felt about my poetry and how they reacted to it. Last time I went in I got some really great responses, was asked a lot of questions I was never asked before, and it was a really awesome feeling. I really feel that when performing, and ONLY WHEN performing, can you ACCURATELY display the emotional impact the piece had on you. There was this girl who was really teary-eyed when I went in there, and it really hit home for me and her. I think there is no greater feeling in the world than to have your VERY OWN poems that YOU YOURSELF wrote be applauded and truly appreciated by those who hear it. I highly recommend going to openmics or doing the same thing I did w/ my teacher and present in front of people so that you can get reactions. It's really just an overall GREAT feeling. yeah, i've performed at my high school up on stage my sophomore, junior, and senior year. I entered this talent show called Word Of Mouf at My high school My junior and senior years and won both of them.. and got to be shown on the high school news of My performances. I've performed in front of hundreds of people My poetry.. I love performing. It's like, the best feeling in the world when you go up on stage and spit your verses to a audience..and they feel it and clap for you and you get to let everyone know where your coming from and how you feel. It's great. I've also gone to open mic's in the past.. and performed at them too. I love sharing my stuff with people. But, I don't share everything that I write.. just the ones that I feel represents me and how I feel and that I am proud of writing. you know what im saying?

I'm performing at a Poetry Slam on June 8th in Overland Park, Kansas.. It's gonna be awesome.

Yeah, I can relate. I share my poems with a few close friends, and my sister. I post a lot on the realm, but I have a lot I've never posted, and only have shared with a few very very very close friends...

i let anyone read my stuff pretty much, i don't have anything to hide and i am a pretty open person. i think the more people read my stuff the better it is for me. i also try to encourage anyone who likes to write to write so that i can read their stuff. i like being open and free with my writing lpoet i'll be your friend and we can read and write poems together. holla

Some friends of mine write, but not much. I let them read my stuff whenever, and they comment on them, etc. sometimes we add on or do one together, or a song, but for ppl. that don't understand it, I don't care if they read it or not. Doesn't really matter to me, but for some reason, I don't let my parents read my poetry, seems like they wouldn't understand my life lol. I think if I did, they would, but I don't know. Besides that, ppl. on rm read my stuff, and just about anybody else for that matter.
