so... what happened to the writing tips?

back on topic here, the biggest and best tip i can give about writing poetry is do you. there is no such thing as a better poet, poetry is expression of emotions and feelings. poetry is at its best when it comes from the heart... so instead of forcing rhymes or patterns or different forms, just let it come out naturally. after you get that down, then try the fancy stuff.

Some people need direction. I've known some writers who didn't knwo the platform/structure on which to start. They were lost and all over the place. The platfrom/structure layed down let them get started. And from there they explored and wrote..



You can learn to write. Many do it to clear there mind (as you said). And the better they do it, the more fulfilled they feel.

This reminds me of...gah!..forget it. But yeah, what was said above.

this is not completly true....i dont know if its about learning how to write, but learning different types of writting...

A poet is a poet since birth only lacking a pen & paper.... If people write to let their feeling out kool but I prefer to write words the way they hit me I lay it down on Papyrus with berries.... But if advice is what a individual needs than hey welcome to the place where dreams come true & the impossable takes shape

that's deep ^^...but yeah, poets aren't necessarily born the day that you are given birth...unless you are a prodigy, then that's a different story....but if its your way to express and begin to born a passion for it, then you can be a poet...advise are like guidlines and safety net as training wheels are your safety net when you first ride a bike...its not easy, but with dedication and will...you will make a poet out of yourself...there's some great advice given here, i may be new, but i could feel the love in here...but yeah as for an advice from me...this is something that i got from a book, its a type of excercise and i had made some interesting things out of it...try writing with you're....argh i forgot the word....but try writing when you feel sleepish...sometimes that will light a tunnel to your sub-councious mind and who knows what lies in there...to me, the more i become familiar with my sub-concious, the easier i can gret images, and use a good flowing diction
