Naughty By Nature - Wickedest Man Alive

I just copped their greatest hits CD the other day and I've been pumping this song nonstop... Treach's flow and lyrics on this piece CRUSHES 90% of the garbage you hear today.

"pimples are simple to pop... I want temples, hop."

"you wouldn't be able to get down wit some help and a step ladder."

"I don't mean to be blunt or front, crude or rude... how can you diss? Your honeydip looks like a honey dude"

I love that song. It's track two on their debut album. The reggae influence in the beat is dope.

Treach has got one of the illest flows in hip hop. Too many kids nowadays like to talk about metaphors and multis, but Treach's flow contained all that shit yet it was VARIABLE... meaning, he didn't always stick to a set rhyme scheme throughout a song. The concentration wasn't strictly on rhyme scheme, but more on intensity of delivery, slick phrases, and variable, musical cadences.

See, a kid like Fabolous or Jada will rock a couplet flow but it's fixed throughout the whole verse. It's monotonous. Back in the days, cats had variable flows. Big L sorta pioneered that fixed couplet flow that every East Coast cat is rocking, but Big L was special because he had a fiery delivery and a sharp wit. Some of these cats are just corny.

Konscious I totally agree. Infact it's refreshing to see someone feels the same way i do. I get tired of the syllable syllable line syllable syllable line...laidback tone....PREDICTABLE FLOW...from 90% of the mcs i'm hearing today. By the way one of my fav things Treach did, was a guest spot on a M.O.P. song, he murders it.

KevinGarnett takes it up the butt!
This song does have a tight beat but i don't really listen to this song at all when i listen to Naughty's first cd. Their first cd was raw though. I like the songs OPP, Everything's Gonna Be Alright(Ghetto Bastard), Everyday All Day, Guard Your Grill, Strike A Nerve, Rhyme'll Shine On, Thanks For Sleepwalkin. Did they have a video for Guard Your Grill? That song is hard. I like their 2nd cd 19 Naughty III a lot & Poverty's Paradise cd was decent. Their Nature's Fury cd had some tight cuts but overall it's not as tight as their first 2 albums. I haven't heard their Icons cd & i don't want to. They need KayGee back. Treach needs to make up with him & try to bring his ass back to the group cause their beats suck now.
