what do you think of jennifer hudson's future, i was watching her on leno last night and i was thinking that even though she may have done a great job in "Dreamgirls", it was a singing role, something that shes fully familiar with....do you think she'll have the same success in the future

i appreciate the love, but i think that's a little over-the-top to only value my opinion... there are quite a few with good taste and analysis on here. keep an eye out for the jeus, trukaos, sadistik1, wonk saggin, liquid6, and riz (sometimes) to name a handful



as for jennifer hudson, i'd be surprised if she amounts to much after this run personally... similar to jamie foxx, she'll get roles due to the box-office draw, but i see her falling out of any serious future contention for acting awards. i think she's one-dimensional, and too much was made about her performance as it was her singing that carried it along with sketchy acting. the golden globe, broadcast film association, and screen actors guild victories over cate blanchett (notes from a scandal) were a joke. she'll more than likely win the oscar for best supporting actress, and it will be a great way to cap off the injustice.

forgive me if she's dear to you in any way... i know she touched many with her on-screen presence in dreamgirls, but in my eyes she simply did not deliver the best supporting performance of the year

I agree with you about Hudson... but fuck the Oscars anyway. Personally, I'm of the opinion that art should never be rated. It's an entirely commercial endeavor. All it means is bigger paychecks.

brah nailed it. She delivered a better 'story' than performance this year. She was the comeback kid, she made it in to a movie anyway after being dumped by american idol.
In the movie....eh, I thought Beyonce was better, which is weird because I've never been much of a Beyonce fan. Hudson could have a career on the stage, Broadway or off, but she didn't really show anything in Dreamgirls that said she has a strong screen acting career ahead of her, unless she takes the Judy Garland route.
