Let's Break this shit down:

Movies: Both are shit, starred in overral garbage movies......but Chris Rock got top billing, Dave has been a minor/supporting role in a majority of his roles.......with the exception of Block Party, which was a musical bore.....but since Dave starred in less crappier movies

Round 1 Winner: Chapelle

Shows: No argument here, and for those those didn't know Rock had his own show....reason u don't know is cuz it flopped......plus, everybody hates Chris is no comparison to Chapelle Show

Round 2 Winner: Chapelle

Stand-Up: This is the most important yet, check it:

1992 Def Comedy Jam Special vs. Bring The Pain 1996=Rock 1
2000 Killing Them Softly vs. Bigger and Blacker 1999=Tie
2004 - For What It's Worth vs. Never Scared=Rock 1

It was close but stand up Round 3 Winner: Rock

OVERALL=ROCK=1
CHAPELLE=2

FINAL VERDICT

WINNER=DAVE CHAPELLE

but Rock got him in Stand Up which is more important in my eyes

Dave Chappelle can get really political, too... he reminds me of a modern-day Richard Pryor with his cadences and "corny white guy" speak.

Rock's pitch and cadence can be grating, at times... but he's always insightful.

They both can be on and off... but Dave usually makes me laugh the most, while Chris makes me nod my head in agreement.

Dave's a better actor, but they're both marginal in that area.

Dave has the best sketches....


So Dave Chappelle wins!

I believe like Vish said he walked away from the show. His ratings from what i seen were solid during his time slot. He picked up emmy nominations for the show as well.

Stand Up: Honestly, not meaning to sound like a self righteous homo but if you pick Chappelle over Rock, you don't know fuck all. His DVD's are 3rd after Eddies and Pryors and it's pretty much been long accepted. Chappelles don't come close. I've never even heard a reveiwer make such a stupid claim and they hype anything.

Films: Rock again. They may not have been AMAZING, but there's still Pootie Tang, Down to Earth and even Head of State to his name. All Chappelle has is Half Baked, which is admittedly probably better than Pootie Tang on a good day, but that's still all he has.

Sketches: Chappelle by a walking mile. Like I said before, he's the only decent American sketch artist I can think of.

So Chris Rock wins over all.

I've never seen the Chris Rock show so i cant compare their shows but as far as standup, yeah Chris Rock is crushing Dave Chappelle. Chris Rock is like top 5 ever in this category.

Yeah Rock on Saturday Night Live was just awful. In Living Color also, he just had that one character which he reprised from "I'm Gunna Git U Sucka"

His show was pretty good, seasons 1 & 2 come out on DVD next month. He had some pretty good opening bits on the show.

maybe Charlie is funnier then Eddie now, but Raw and Delirious were outstanding. Also Eddie's work on Saturday Night Live in the early 80's was by far some of the best ever on that show...

ya i wish i could find that episode of oprah it was pretty good...dave just felt like he was snaked by alot ofpeople...and they were just using him to be able to get away with so called racist jokes...basically they felt he was a black man he could get away with it....i love dave chappelles stand up though...chris rock and dave are some of my favorites.

but i just hope he doesnt turn out like eddie murphy eddie has fallen off big time.
