Forrest Griffin was shoguns Ryo Chonan....
I place shogun one rank under anderson silva right now........so number 2 p4p in MMA.....
I thought he was a bum for being finished by forrest......but even the greatest of all time anderson silva lost to bums.....3 bums to be exact (and one lousy DQ)
Shoguns still young......he'll probably be number 1 at some point if he keeps working on his technical striking....add that to his explosiveness he'll be a monster
1. Anderson Silva
2. Shogun Rua
3. Fedor
4. BJ Penn
5. Lyoto Machida

Yeah, but Ryo beat a healthy Anderson, while Shogun was injured.
Top five pound for pound....hmmm
1) A. Silva
2) BJ Penn
3) Vitor Belfort
4) Dan Henderson
5) Rich Franklin
I think those are the only five that fight elite comp at multiple divisions.

I know you exclude fedor...but honestly, he fights at 2 weight classes at least........heavy and super heavy...they just don't have a super heavy weight class....
Vitor over dan??? i believe dan beat vitor....i'd put him higher.....

That's true about Fedor, but he's never fought an elite super heavy. The only super heavy weights he's fought are the big Asian K1 fighter, and Sapp (I think).

wouldn't call okami a bum. he's only lost I think twice in the ufc.
Anderson wasn't healthy in the chonan fight. Dude had broken bones in his foot.
Not that it necessarily would've changed the outcome of the fight, because anderson wasn't the same fighter then. though he always showed promise, guy didn't his his stride until his 30s. He'd kill chonan and takase at the same time now.
it took forrest 3 rounds to finish and exhausted shogun. Shogun was rolling and trying to be active the whole fight, even giving forrest a nasty elbow at one point. I actually think that speaks volumes about his natural skill/heart.
I still think shogun and lyoto can clear out all of 205 pretty easily, except mousasi.

I'd probably have to throw mousasi in there somewhere. hws, lhws, and mws are fair game.

Okami didn't win, he lost and got a win by DQ and was getting dominate.
and Anderson being injured, makes my point even clearer..lol......shoguns loss to griffen is the equivelant
i wouldn't put mousassi up there yet, since he isn't were the competition is.

Babalu was shogun's chonan, btw.
shogun wasn't yet shogun, and he got submitted by a fighter that is hit or miss.
