flow help

whats a good way to reconize your orginal flow like for me somtimes i flow in one style in voice but next time i spit im flowing and spittin in complete diffrent style and delivery... rite now i just got a mic but each time i spit it comes out diffrent so far i got one track done with my mic

try writing bars of equal length.. like 12-15 syllables.. that way you can pace yourself without rushing..

you wanna have enough air in ya lungs to spit a line without running outta breath.

as well as try working with a few multies kid.. it'll help with adding a lil ••••e to ya flow.

with a decent syllable cound and some multies it'll just be a matter of time..

also read alot in the open mic.. or in the RSTL.. you'll see how the more experienced cats do it. there is alot of talent at this site, however sometimes you have to look for it.

and when you find someone who you can flow their lyrics well, try to take notice of what rhyme schemes they use and try the same type of pattern.. you'll see that once you establish a good scheme, you'll flow much better.

^^^ definitely true... it could also depend on the setup of your equipment too, it could be how far you're standing from the mic and the mics position n shit naa mean?

O.K., You need to first be original. Everybody in the history of the hip-hop game who had respect was original. Very good start. Be yourself, don't be afraid to be criticized. You're going to get criticized whether you want to be or not, good or bad. Once you know that...you'll feel more confident like I might be all that or I might be garbage but whatever the case may be somebody is probably worse than you. So that makes you want to do your best! So you don't even come close in that company.

Next, you need to learn from experienced veterans such as myself I've been rapping since 1988 I was 12 years old writing rhymes believe it or not. I stopped however in 1998. I later joined the Army and got married and so went that. However, I always admired the old cats Ice-T, L.L. Cool J, Krs-One, Redman, Kool G. Rap, and Rakim. These guys might be old but they have something that few can identify with and that's strong persona, a vibe. A vibe that's like I'm going to rap like this regardless of what you young cats want to rap about and they spit it like that... I have my respect already, I have nothing to prove to you. That's real. It's true too. Would Michael Jordan feel he has something to prove to Lebron James? No...because he's already established himself.That's the mind set you have to have. Once you get that it'll always be there. Just listen to the old school MC's, don't take their style. I'm saying see how the view there audience when they be rhyming and moving them. When the pressure's on...you're game steps up. I know I've been there!

I still to this day can't decipher some of the Wu-Tang's flow. That's like the Bible man, I don't be understanding some of it. I say Bible as far as how complex it is an trying to understand the rhyme patterns, what relates with what. It's crazy, yo! Ol' Dirty Bastard had mad lyrics it might seem like he ain't really saying nothing but he was putting his mind to work on his lyrics as well. I look up to KRS-One and Kool G. Rap. Those two are my all time favorites. I wouldn't hesitate to change my mind for any other MC. The GZA of the Wu Tang that's number 3 on my list. Pretty good company, huh? Underrated company...very underrated.
