my post was a satirical response to menaz's central argument in the "fighter or lover" thread
and, his is:

it simply isn't true, because the pecking order is founded on more than just physical force and fighting
you could have a hollywood actor chillin up in the vip section of a club with his entourage and groupies when a regular joe walks up says, "say fool, i don't like how you were lookin at my woman. let's take this outside and handle it."
if the actor refuses the challenge, will his entourage and girls leave his side for the regular joe's?
if the actor takes up the challenge without his entourage's help and even ends up losing the fight, will he lose his position in the pecking order?
the answer is no to both questions
menaz thinks a challenge issued in itself establishes a man's dominance and affords him the "#1 spot of the pecking order"
false. it's founded on much more than just brute force.
money, appearance, charm, social status, etc. all come into play
a lot of the time, the challenger is one with all to gain and nothing to lose... and, the challenged occupies a position he wants
and, if the challenged backs down, it's not always out of "cowardice"
thank you.
