You can say what you want, but people offline and people That I meet can't believe I'm 19, making the type ofmusic that i make, and I do it with ease nigga. And also the fact that I write my own songs, I can arrange songs the way I want ot hear them, I know the concept of harmony, and I can hear harmony and sing it back for people... and the fact that I taught myself all of this. (and I still got a WHOLE lot to learn but that's besides the point right now)

The fact is though, no matter how "great" you think that you are. There's at LEAST a thousand others who are better. The only thing that can make you "GREAT" is great lyrics.
The music may be outstanding but there is nothing that you can do musically without words that another can't do better than you.

"Message" is the key.

A powerful message can make a good song a legendary song.
Great music with no message is noise and will eventually become elevator entertainment.

I don't care HOW great the music is. What makes someone "make it" in this game is if their music is good enough, their hustle is nonstop, and if it is just meant to be. We all know artists that are better than everyone out there who have never sold a single disc or have never gotten in the lab. You have to walk out on faith and have faith in yourself. All the talent in the world will not make you "a star" or get you the recognition you feel you so deserve. That's why I applaud your book. I just worry about when critics tear it apart, what will you do?

It's the hustle, mang. It's who you know, how you can work your connections, what can you do by yourself before you even go to the label. Talent at that point is presumed.

Critics are failures. They wouldn't be critics if they had succeeded. They went to school to learn what can't be taught and came up short so they critique those who succeed. That is the way things work. Let them tear the book apart and point out the punctuation errors that I put in the book on purpose. The publisher corrected them and I told them to put it back as I had it. Inside the cover you will see that they left it EXACTLY as I asked them to leave it. Let them do what they do and I'll sit back and laugh to myself because they have completely missed the message. The book is going to sell itself. I'm not concerned with it.

People only have to hustle a product if it is a product that people don't need.
