Musically, "Crazy" was inspired by film scores of spaghetti Westerns, in particular by the works of Ennio Morricone, who is best known as the composer of Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy.[3] The song samples a portion of "Last Man Standing" by the brothers Gianfranco and Gianpiero Reverberi from the 1968 spaghetti Western Django, Prepare a Coffin (Preparati la Bara!) (The track is listed as "Nel Cimitero di Tucson" on the film's soundtrack).[4]

The song's lyrics, written by Cee-Lo, were inspired by a conversation he and Danger Mouse had in the studio with the instrumental playing on repeat: Danger Mouse was "caught up in thinking that people have to believe you're crazy to think you're an artist."[5] After the conversation, Cee-Lo recorded the vocals for the song in just one take.[6]

definitely not gnarls barkley's 'crazy', and it's impossible for any type of spaghetti western music to be garbage either. almost any and every variation of it is golden... the whistling, coyote howls, surf guitars, the mariachi horns, the cascades of "ooohs" and "aaahs" from the coed choirs, the bells, the soaring solo sopranos belting out elegiac cries...

i dunno...i dont generally search out western scores....i do search out italian composers though....and in that case i run into a lot of westerns....

but i cant really sit there and give you a top 10 list.....

as far as the beat....man that shit is long gone...lol.....
i used to have it up on my soundclick a couple months ago but i wiped out all those old beats clean.....
i used the vocal part of the sample as an alternate sequence along with the trumpet lead that comes in over the main loop that dangermouse used....

mine was more......rjd2-ish in a sense....dangermouse's version is slower then mine and used a 1-2 drum program...i sped it up and used a heavy chopped up drum break
