A writing portfolio..
This probably shouldn't be in ladies delight, but I had no where else to put this and I want a lot of responses from women. Ok, I have a friend that wants to be a journalist. She also wants to help a lot of people in third world countries, such as Iraq, El Salvador, etc. Of course to get anywhere with writing she has to make a portfolio. And she told me how lately she hasn't been writing a lot and publishing a lot of things because she doesn't really have anything inspirational to write about...so basically, she has writers block. I was trying to help her out so I told her she could write about experiences in her life, and hard times in her life that affected social aspects of her, religious aspects, etc. She then said how her hard times seem insignificant compared to other things in the world. So I told her how she could write about how her hard times makes her think about the people in the third world countries and how it gives her a genuine interest to help them. And basically, what I'm here for, is to ask some of the ladies here what would be good things to write about as a female? I don't want her to put up a front because the people judging her writing will see straight through that. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.
