So ladies who have been there drop some advice or tips or whatever you wanna share about your experiences..



~It's not as bad as you think it's gonna be... Now, don't get me wrong it's not pleasant (sp) but really, it's not THAT bad..

~Make sure you bring hair elastics.. I made the mistake of forgetting them at home and I ended up with a HUGE rats nest on the back of my head, which brings me to the next tip.......
~Don't forget shampoo/conditioner (if its not supplied to you) Another thing I forgot and imagine trying to comb that rats nest outt your hair with no conditioner..

Another thing Im curious about...
LaMaze/Pre-Natal classes.. Or whatever those things are called..lol..Did any of you ladies actually do the pre-natal course things? Do you think it actually helped you during labour? Alot of my friends took it and they all said it really didnt help them at all, so I didnt take them either..

aaawwz i love kids...i have not been pregnant, so i cant offer any real advice...My only two cents are "don't name your kid anything stupid...they'll be scarred for life..." LoL

Short, I also had a rats next with my second lol. But I actually had my hair in a messed bun type thing. But as I got further along with contractions, I pulled it out because it was bugging me. I just happened to pull it out during a contraction and it didn't work as planned LOL It was a HORRIBLE mess. First thing I did after they took my son to clean him was brush it out.


But I say the same advice things as said before. Also another thing I used, which worked with my second. When you have to push and are contracting. I won't lie, it hurts like a bitch. But I found that when I focused on the baby and what it would be like holding my baby. It went smoother. I didn't let one yell out. Yeah I whinned and maybe said a bad word under my breath. But I kept it calm and collective (also my second birth tho). And it just went by fast and out he was and it was like nothing happened!!! I always say TRY to go without getting the drugs. But don't feel like a failure if you cave in. More ppl then you know do it. It happens quite a bit. Don't beat yourself up about it. But as long as you TRY to go with just breathing and what not. It's okay to get the meds :o)

Another thing, and I know this is gonna sound gross. But any women that has given birth can vouch for me on this. When you are pushing, you're actually pushing from your ass. They tell you basically to push like you're going number 2. But then it really feels like you might just go all over the place, only because you are pushing from down there. Sometimes women do (and it's ALL RIGHT) sometimes they don't. I know when I was pushing I got scared and refused to push because I didn't want to shit all over the place lmao. I kept telling the nurse that I couldn't because I'd shit. She told me most likely I won't, but even if I had to, it's okay. They clean it before you even realize you did it....Thankfully I didn't do it either time. But it's always a possibility and it's NOTHING to worry about or to be embarassed about. It happens :o)


There's just so much I can get into about this subject. I will let you know that giving birth is one of the best things I've ever done in my life. You'll either love it, or hate it. Some women had a hard time, some breeze through it. In my case I was in labour for 13hrs with my first, pushed 15 mins and he was out. Second was labour 10 hrs and about 15 mins pushing also. It was the best 13 and 10 hrs of my life :o)

Damn @ 13 and 10 hours.. My first was 28 hours with 3 hours of pushing and still no baby.. I got that good ole episiotomy, 2 epidurals and a few more minutes of pushing THEN a baby.. My second was 18 hours and about 8 minutes of pushing since she was already crowning when I got to the hospital.. :S

Every labour/birth is SO different..

I hated the feeling like you needed to take a crap... When I was in labour with my son I got up b/c I SWEAR I had to take a dump and the nurse got mad at me for leaving the bed.. She was like, "do you want your babys first sight to be the bottom of a toilet bowl??"

ROTF!!! @ the toilet bowl comment. But I totally did the same thing! I told her I HAD to go to the washroom. I just HAD too. She didn't wanna let me. But I made her let me. Nothing happened haha. It was just me being parinoid!

Gosh I couldn't imagine longer labour then I did. My sister, lucky bitch. She was in labour for 45 mins with her son =o now that is a nice labour haha.

I was induced with both pregnancy's. I never went into labour on my own. First birth my doctor broke my water (or he went ot break it....was in between my legs and OOPS it broke on it's own...all over him :x lmao) then my second I went in and got induced. But a stupid nurse in training put the contraction strap thing on UPSIDE down so it wasn't showing my contractions....they sent me home. I was back with in an hour. My water broke on my husband's favourite lounge chair (needless to say that chair is long gone lmao). I've never seen him drive so fast the way he did that day...lol.

Great times...that's for sure :o) I'll do it again some day. (before I'm 28)

Oh, I just thought of something else.... Take pics...They dont have to be like, pics of you maked or pics of the baby coming out but make sure to snap a few.. I didnt with my son and I soon regretted it.. Then with my daughter I vowed I was going to but when it came down to it there was just no time... I promise, if you don't you will regret it!

I agree short! When I had my first we weren't really thinking of taking pictures during the labour or anything. A bunch after tho. So with my second I MADE SURE I took some during and what not. I even have one of my son just out with the cord still attached. It's by far my favourite picture :o)

well there is really nothing you can say to help someone get ready for a baby but what not to forget to bring but you cant take what other people tel you what it is going to b like because every labor is so different. Its going to be hard but in the long run its so worth all the 9mos and pain. You forget about everything you have been through after the baby is born. I had my first in April and its been the best time in my life(well other then with his father lostprophet).

.. I gotta 9 month old babyboi.. His name is Alexavier. Wen I got pregnant that shit changed my LIFE fa real ladies. Hell nah i never want to no Lamaze classes.. They axed me if i wanted to go.. but who tha fucc in they right mind is gonna go to breathing classes.. yo ass wouldent BE here righ now if you couldnt BREATHE!! hahaha I never went to no prenatal classes.. i let everythang run naturally. Havin a baby IS natural. No matter wat dont pysch yaself up thinkin "Ima get a epidural and im na gonna feel anything" Hahahaha.. Baaaaaaleive me ladies.. i had an epi and .. Yea it numb tha pain a LIIIIIL bit... but as for birth.. NOTHING can stop that pain.. NOTHING.. its worth it in tha long run wen you feel that baby OUT, tha intense pressure on ya nana is gone.. u feel ya babys touch 4 tha first time.. u hear ya babys first cry.. NOTHING and i mean NOTHING can eva replace that feelin...
