Just reading through the "L Word" thread.. for those of you that are/have been in love.. how did you know? (lol & please no one say "you'll just know..." try to explain how you know)

I knew I really loved him the moment I told him that I was stronger than he thought I was. Because through everything I still decided that he's worth staying with.. worth dealing with everything that we're dealing with right now. Its hard but I can still get through it with a smile on my face because I know he loves me and I know I love him.

I should make Hallmark cards.. lol

Only felt that way twice in my life... it just hits me like a ton of bricks... I'll start thinking about my feelings/behavior towards him and it kind of just all adds up... how I'm always WANTING to do things for him, how the thought of being without him in my life compels me to stick it out through the tough times (even when he gets on my LAST nerve), how I start thinking about him every time I hear those corny love songs that used to make me want to puke... I don't know any other way to explain it... hope my little disfunctional scenario helped... lol.

Some people argue that love that is illusion and that once we've been "tricked" then we have "fallen in love."

Love is very complex to me. I believe that the way love emerges between two people is unique to their experiences. Love has two main components --- behavioral and emotional. The ways they are invoked and manifested between people varies.

Anyway, to answer the question...

I don't know anyway to describe my experience "falling in love" but to explain it has an unexplainable inclination towards her. Another broad way of explaining it would be by the following:

I could say she took my breath away when she walked into the room and I couldn't stop thinking about her, but I experienced those things prior to my realization -- even in those first couple of days I met her. it's sort of like an addiction...even when we argue, and he says he's about to leave, I never want him to go. I can never stay mad at him long, and I know that if he left, I would go crazy.
