How long did you wait before sleeping with or getting sexual with your current boy/girlfriend? If your S.O. wants to wait, does it affect how you view him/her? What about if they give it up right away? Do you think having early sexual relations enhances or diminishes a relationship?

^^ lol there was one guy i wanted to f*ck the BRAKES off of....and he wanted to wait lol....once i told my friends, they thought he was gay lol

i guess you could say it was refreshing...but it was kinda extreme. Like, we never kissed, held hand nuthin....but at the same time, he would have me sleep in his bed overnight...but wouldn't touch me. i always got mixed signals from him.

i don't mind if a man wants to hold off on sexuality in a relationship...but i ask that he's consistent. don't take off my clothes then say we cant have sex. But at the same time, i need SOME kind of affection...a kiss or sumthin lol

After being together 5 years, nothing now would have seemed like we moved too fast.

I think sexual stuff early on really just depends on the couple and how quickly their relationship is moving. It really varies from person to person. Relationship to relationship. I have no true opinion rather it harms or helps the relationship, it can just depend on a lot of different factors.

i made my boyfriend wait for a year.i know he was frustrasted,but it wasn't like i was doin this on purpose.(i lost my virginity to him). but anywayz i guess us waitin made our relationship better,cause that year we actually talked and got to know each other.

I agree with Lala -- sex in the early stages of a relationship really depends on the uniqueness of the couple. Waiting, in our situation, was to our advantage because it took the "sexual pressure" off of my girlfriend who was a virgin and allowed us to develop the other areas of our relationship. So when sex commenced we had already built a strong foundation, which for us made the sex better.

me & my guy actually fcuked the first time we ever hung out. Then i just broke up with my boyfriend of almost 2 years, so i just wanted it to be a fling... But it wound up actually turning into a relationship.

...I personally think that waiting is better. Because then like Speedy Gunzalez said, you can develop other areas of your relationship;;; because now for me i'll never know if we could have a connection without the whole sex thing.

..And about if i wanted to do it & the guy didnt want to---i guess i'd probably be offended in a way lol

dont expect a man to respect you if you're givin it up on the first night...i mean if u just tryin to fuck, then so be it...but as i said before, dont expect him to respect you....women pretty much set the tone on a relationship...if u come across as easy and not lettin us put in work...more than likely we're gonna expect the relationshp to be that way indefinitely...thats how our minds work

b4 i start anything, i tell her straight up what it is...that way she dont be wondering later.......this seems to only work on more mature women, the younger ones think they can change your mind later, which is how they always get hurt...

My longest, most serious relationships got physical fairly early on.

If he wanted to wait, how I viewed him would probably not be affected - but the potential for us to remain in a relationship would be, depending on his reasoning and how long h wanted to wait. If he wanted to hold off on sex because he held rigidly puritanical/sexist views about sex and/or women (didn't want to get his girl "dirty", or didn't respect women who "put out"), then we couldn't continue to see one another because his attitude/beliefs would not be compatible with mine. If he wanted to wait simply because he wanted to develop the other areas of our relationship (I feel you, Speedy), then I'd be all about it, as I am of a similar mind on that issue.

I don't think it's the sex that makes or breaks the relationship, it's the mindset of the individuals involved and their willingness to be open/honest about their intentions. The negative/"dirty" value we place on sex is the issue, not the physical act itself.
