I waited till he said it first. So I've never had to say it first. But I think if it was now I had to do this. I'd prolly say it first when I felt it was right. If I didn't get a response, I'd be okay with it. Actually, it would most likely suck lol. But I'd prepare myself for it. I'd also try to let him know at a time when I think it would be more accepted. I wouldn't say it before 6 months into the relationship.

Anyways, with me and my guy said it first and I didnt say it back b/c a) I knew he was just trying to get into my pants and b) I didnt love him so why would I have said it..?...lol.. (This was after we had been together for about a month if I remember correctly.) It took me awhile to say it b/c I thought that if I said it I was opening myself up for a let down. Yeah, I know I have issues...lol

But if I said it to a guy and he didnt say it back to me it would bother me but I would rather have him not say to me rather than say it and not mean it.

I said it first to my Girlfriend just this past summer. We were walking back to my car from the restuarant on a hot summer night and I just stopped her and looked her in her eyes and told her. And she said it right back.

I actually told my lady I love you first and she waited about two weeks to reciprocate those feelings back. I'm glad she did not respond to my expression "just because" or to make me feel better and waited til she genuinely felt how I felt to let me know.

Well, I approached the situation with the possibility that she may not feel how I feel, but I did not let that deter me from expressing to her my emotions. So when she didn't say I love you back I was perfectly fine with and I was comforted by the fact that I was able to freely express myself. And I could also detect that she appreciated that.
