So I was just thinking what I was gonna make for dinner. Decided I'd see who else does the cooking ;o)

Are you a "cooker"?

If so, how many do you cook for?

and

What's the best thing you can cook and enjoy cooking?

I do quite a lot of cooking these days. I got tired of not being able to cook anything so I had a go and quite liked it. I wouldnt say its a passion but one of the chores I would rather do. I cook for my family quite a lot, which is usually three of four people. sometimes 6 or 8, but its quite a challenge cooking for that many. I cook quite a lot of pasta dishes, penne carbonaras, meatballs, lasagne.roast dinners, Stews, ale Pies, bread,sausage rolls, Pizzas, BBQ chicken, smoked fish, lamb, pork, fish and chips, different salads, ceaser salad, or other salads with vinnagrettes. I make mayonaise sometimes at home cus its so easy and tastes to much better than what u can buy in a bottle. I have tried so many recipes that alot are escaping me right now, I get bored so like to try cooking things I have never cooked before.

Cooking for 4 every day..Even when I work I somewhat prepare dinner before I leave (@ 3:15) ...When I didnt work I used to experiment all the time but lately I havent been cooking alot of new dishes.. To be honest I dont really have a favourite thing to cook but the things I definetly don't like to cook are stuffed tomatos, mushroooms and green peppers b/c they take alot of work.

WOW Brit. You cook lots! Some sounds yummy. Others I don't like, or wouldn't try. Very picky ;o)

Short. I too cook for 4 everyday. No matter what my day was like. Although sometimes it's a fend for yourself. Which usually comes on weekends or fridays lol.

I'd love to make some different things. Some of the things you mentioned Brit sound like good dishes to try. ;o)

Heres one of my mum's fave pasta dishes. Its really simple and quick to make. My lil neices love it. You will need:

2 medium sized tubs of cherry tomatoes,
Parmesan cheese /grated fine
salt
two cloves of garlic
Butter or Olive oil
pasta/penne is good for this but any will do
Basil

Halve the cherry tomatoes and put them to the side. Heat a medium sized frying pan and when it gets hot add a nob of butter and once melted Crush some garlic into the pan and cook for a few minutes on a medium heat. Add the tomatoes and stir around, then season them with salt. Leave the tomatoes to cook on a gentle heat for about 15 mins stirring occasionally. Meanwhile Cook your pasta in boiling salted water till al dente. ( till it doesnt taste wheaty and is soft but still has bite) A good way of telling if pasta is cooked is throwing it against the wall and seeing if it sticks. If it does, its cooked. :-). Once the pasta is cooked, Drain it, but reserve a couple of tablespoons of the cooking water. Put another nob of butter into the pasta and a handfull of parmesan cheese and 2 or three tablespoons of the cooking water. (this stops it from going to dry and keeps it silky.)and a little pepper if you want then add all the tomatoes and sauce from the frying pan into the dish with the pasta and stir. Plate up the pasta and sprinkle over some fresh basil and a little more parmesan cheese and serve with some nice garlic bread or salad. Or maybe some fries. :-)

I used to cook lots.. Not so much anymore.. but Saturday I made a Caramel A.pple Cake that was really good.. Everyone loved it.

I cook when no one else feels like it, I like making anything that involves pasta or chicken, today I made some turkey burgers and brussels sprouts. Usually mom cooks, cause she wants to be a nutritionalist and all..

I've always liked to cooked but uhh moving in with a man and it sourta being the 'expected' thing for me to do every night took a lot of the fun out it

I still like it though from time to time...especially when I am experimenting with something new.

I only cook for the 2 of us so it's not that big of a chore.

Not to brag..but I make a lot of good stuff. My Thanksgiving dinners are the bomb diggity do, but mostly b/c all my recipes came from my mom lol

That was the best "na na na na" to my future mother in law though lol A couple of years ago she came to our house for Thanksgiving and I had insisted on cooking everything myself..except she made some gravy or something. But yeah..she kept nitpicking here and there and making me mad a little bit lol..but once everybody dug in she was like.."oohh you can cook." Well no shit

lol @ la la. I think ppl are surprised when I can cook also. Dunno why, I cook for a family of 4 every nite!

My mother inlaw was the same the first thanksgiving we had as a family. My husband and I did the cooking. I had been doing it since I was 12 at home with my Dad. So I knew what I was doing. She didn't believe me till she ate the food ;o) We do thanksgiving dinner every year at our place now ;o)

I dont cook unless I have to...which is whenever we have big family(aunts, cousins, uncles etc) dinners and stuff

and even then I try and escape lol...I dont enjoy it.

i can cook a mean furburger if u know what i mean lol. i love to eat em too. so nice and juicy. i like em rare tho.
