its a lot of information to take in, and its a big responsibility...being in charge of money that doesnt belong to you...im just trying to embrace being nervous...the more careful i am, the less likely i am to eff up lol

I'm still on the fence of what I'd like to go to school for. I'm trying to mix something that I'd enjoy, with something that would work for still being there for my children (working during school hours--basically 9-5 kind of job). Also I don't have many choices if I were to go to school, since I'd want to get done with in a 2-4yr time span. I've thought of becoming an EA (Educational Assistant) so I could work in my boys school (or any school for that matter) and that way I'd have the summers off with them. That would make life easier being away. So that's still a thought. Then I thought maybe Medical Administration. Not a dream job, but would be a 9-5.

If I had it my way, it would be something criminal justice tho ;o) I'd love to take Criminology or something of the like. Which they do have a 2yr course here that is a Science and Arts program that would have a lot of the stuff you'd learn in the 7yr program--basically a started get you ready course. I'd love to take that on top of something else, just for fun.


Now I'm rambling, but I'm not sure any of this will ever even happen :o( I'm having some issues with the mister about me going to school, lol. So we'll see.

we get crazy customers. drunk people come in alot...or we get the people that come in and they ask for $50 in singles & im like "yeah buddy...you're going to the Hustler right around the corner" lmaoo. i had one guy come in with a check for $255 and he wanted it ALL in quarters o_O

i've even stopped some fraud already too. kid came in trying to cash a fraudulent check, it seemed fishy to me, so i held his ID and made him sit down. Me manger took it from there, but in less than a half an hour the kid got arrested. crazy mayne...

criminology would be soo awesome! would you want to get more into the science side?? like CSI...or get more into the legalities like Law Enforcement?

Damn @ those customers. What made you think that one was a fraud? I don't even know how some people have the balls to try that shit. My sister was charged for writing false cheques a few years back. Just didn't get it lol

I'd like to go more into the science side of Criminology. Although first choice was to be a cop, lol. Just don't see that happening now. But getting into the csi or criminal minds type part would be a dream come true! Maybe one day ;o)

He just thinks spending money to go to school is ridiculous. He thinks I should just find a min. wage job and try to work my way up to make the big bucks---umm, yeah, no lol It would take me years before I moved up any where to make enough that's worth being away from my children (I'm 28 and getting closer to 30---working my way up will take forever). I'd rather start at a high wage and be in something worth my time away that I enjoy. So we're still discussing this one.

omg so this lady came in with a check, and the system told me not to cash it. i called my supervisor and she approved it so we gave the lady her money. hours later, this kid comes in with a check from the same account. but it struck me as odd b/c i was just like "what are the chances of two different unrelated people coming in with checks from the same person??"

then i look at the signature and i remember the first check and it was totally different. and the kid [he was 18] was like "yeah thats my graduation present..." and im thinkin to myself "wtf...u graduated in june but you're just now getting a check??" so i played it off and acted like i was gonna cash it. i took his ID, and told him that we had to verify the funds and to take a seat and we'd be right with him. and because i had his ID he didn't leave.

I pulled my supervisor aside and gave her the deal and she started calling around on it. next thing you know a lady cop comes in [she's really an investigator...she wasnt in uniform but she had a gun] and she starts grillin the kid. shes yelling at him, pointing, the whole nine. next thing you know, he was arrested and escorted out.

for catching the fraud i get sumthin like $250. its crazy tho, ppl try and get over all the time. ppl be tryin to deposit checks that arent made out to them. they try and deposit a check, the pull the money right back out the next day [before it has even cleared] in a different branch but get it as a cashiers check and its like "dude...that's money laundering. fuck outta here."

the thing is if any losses come up on your drawer then you personally are responsible for it. so like if i hadn't stopped that check, and lets say i just cashed it, and then a week later the person whose checks got stolen come up and file a claim, they'll trace it back to me, since i was the one that cashed it and hold me liable for that loss. i'll be damned if i end up owing my bank any money LoL so im super on it.

today i was over $30 because what i typed into the system was wrong [not because i was actually over]...and because i had already "batched out" the error couldn't be revered. so now im probably gonna be in trouble =\
