Long term dating – any effect on mental health?

Does anyone agree that prolonged single-ness causes diminished mental health?

Does saying “I love you” to a large succession of partners compromise the view that “there is someone special out there for me?”

If you dreamt of marriage and family (as distinct from enjoying casual dating), and for whatever reason, were unable to achieve it, did it have an effect?

1) Self-esteem, yes. Mental health? That's too broad of a spectrum to answer...

2) I don't think it necessarily comprimises you thinking your "one" is out there somewhere. I think it can pose a problem for partners who come later down the line as they may question your sincerity. Words like that can lose their meaning very easily if they are thrown around, and not backed up by action.

3) I'm lately starting to wonder if I want to get married at all.... what's the point?

Re :

You may have some reasons for your reservations. It could be that not all sites are good enough. But you can convince yourself about these sites after you go through Modern Man It is a very good site about dating. It guides new comers as well as experienced people about dating.

well marriage isn't for everyone the same way everyone shouldn't have kids. it's all about how mature you are and if you can handle all that comes with the program. if you feel like you haven't lived your life and haven't done everything you want to do in life by the time you get married or have kids then don't get married or have kids. but if you have a partner that shares the same dreams or that is willing to support your dreams then go for it. kids slow your dreams down if they wasn't apart of your dream or if you not ready for them. and marriage come with a lot of stuff you didn't sign up for trust me lol. it takes more then just being in love to stay married lol. lots more. and when you get married you marry that family not just that person and everything that comes with that family as well lol. thats the extra bullshit lol.
