okay long story short

i have been dating my best friend for about 6 months

shes christian..very active in that lifestyle

i gave up sex

we always thought that the religous issue shouldnt be a factor till we get more serious..meaning marriage or engagement or watever


but i have been noticing that she is a lil different around me..so we spoke about it about a week ago and she told me that she isnt sure about her feelings for me or our future because of the fact that im not of her faith

ofcourse i was upset because this shit is comin out of nowwhere and i thought we wouldnt stress this

but the fact remains that she is on "i need some time " mode

and i have been through this before ..givin a female her space and it almost never turns out good

this is simply me vs her faith i think

and i dont think im gonna win this battle

what do yall think i should do

if we decide not to be together than that means the friend shit goes out the window..me and her would speak just about everyday fr like the last 6 years man

i obviously care for this person a whole lot and i feel like ive been treated a lil unfairly

You haven't been treated unfairly in my opinion. Sometimes a woman can balancce her faith with her dude if she is mature and strong enough to do so but its really hard to do. You knew from the start that there would be issues although you both seemed to agree it would work itself out.

See it in her shoes. It may be a direct infraction on her faith to deal with you and that is mental torture for anyone to deal with.

Why would your friendship be out the window? If you let that happen that means you have no respect for her values. Its not a fair thing. I know it seems wrong for her to do especially since you don't hold her religious beliefs in high regard (thus it may even seem silly to you), but you have to take her faith in consideration. Space may be good.

I used to have issues with this but only when my path to the most high was outlined by other people and not by me.

Have you tried showing interest in her faith? Maybe finding out about something that is so important in her life will give you some insight and build strength in the relationship.. ?
