How race plays itself out under communism:

After Fidel Castro's revolution triumphed in 1959, he declared that Cuba would be a raceless society, banned separate facilities for blacks and whites and launched a string of free education and health programs for the poor -- most of them blacks.

Many blacks people still support Castro, saying that without him they would still be peons in the sugar cane fields. One black Cuban diplomat said he had no hope of an education, and his grandmother no medical care for her glaucoma, until the revolution came along.

But listen to some blacks, particularly those born after 1959, and the failures of the revolution also become clear...

This got me thinking about how many Black revolutionaries in both the U.S and abroad during the 60's and 70's embraced communism thinking that it would be the solution to racism or racist exploitation. Cuba's example shows that even under communism racial biases and discrimination can still exist.

but I DO know that communists tried to exploit black radicals and their need for change with promises of equality.

Just like in the Revolutionary War, just like in the Civil War, just in like the World Wars, the game plan was to push black foot soldiers to the front line of a war between two white ideologies.

And whoever won, we still lost.

Except for Nazism. There were a few Black Germans in the Luftwaffe but they were not conscripted they volunteered to protect the fatherland.

Nazi Germany was also the only major state at the time that respected African sovereign status and traded for materials and goods rather than simply take them like the U.S and Britain and then say "It's for your own good there blackie."

A lot of Africans sided with the Axis probably because it was the only Multi-Racial force of the time (Japanese, Germans, Mexicans) in terms of power shared not simply soldier counts...

Anyways the U.S and Britain never forgot about it and well we all know the storm that came down upon them.

Sort of like Haiti, after that revolution they never were forgiven.

I hate you, but you are right.

My main problem with communism is its suffocating effect on culture and art, but that's a topic for another thread.

Let's be real here, the Nazi's couldn't give a shit about Africa. They allowed their ally to invade and conquer Ethopia, without a sign of protest, unless you consider troop and supply support protest.
