This man is celebrated by all. ALL!! lol except racists
Why wouldn't all people get the day off???????
We are celebrating his birth....not his death.
but this thread ain't about your stupid comment.
lol
how many of you feel that TODAY white people are uninformed about figures like Dr. King and the contributions that him and others made to the civil rights movement??
where I live, and in my experience, I have found the opposite to be true.
Most of my non-white kids that I have coached, tutored, or graded papers have little or no knowledge of the civil rights movement.
range'n from 5th grades who I tutor
7th 8th and 9th graders I coach
and college students whos papers I grade as a TA
interest in the subject is also abismal
last semester I was a TA for a civil rights class and a political change in america class, and these kids (all of them) were for lack of a better world clueless.
Half dropped plenty failed and only a handfull really read the material and preservered.
There were also only 4 black students in both classes.
My experience has been that no particular race has displayed more knowledge about the civil rights movement than another.
What has your experience been?
