Method Man - T2000 Judgement Day
Method Man & Redman - Blackout!
Snoop Dogg - Doggfather
Wu-Tang Killa Bees - The Swarm
High & Mighty - Homefield Advantage
Last Emperor - Music, Magic & Myth
Eminem - Relapse
Wyclef Jean - The Carnival
Akrobatik - Balance
RZA as Bobby Digital - In Stereo
kinda scratchin' my head for stuff I love that hardly anyone else does, or other people trash...
there are more certified classics that just don't get unanimous, 24/7 Illmatic love and should imo, like Goodie Mob - Soul Food, Wu-Tang - Forever, Heltah Skeltah - Nocturnal, Gravediggaz - Six Feet Deep, Company Flow - Fun Crusher Plus etc... but they're rated right, i think. Maybe other, more contemporary classics are just rated unfairly high.
Snoop - Doggystyle. It wasn't underrated at the time of release but in the broad spectrum this albums seems to be overshadowed by The Chronic and than the rise of 2Pac. This album was a cohesive masterpiece all the way thru. Love this album.
Bone - E1999 Eternal. Again a great album that received much praise at the time but now seems to be overlooked. I remember a thread in the AEH where this album was beat out by 36chambers. I almost puked in my mouth. The ouija theme pushin a new style of rapper with almost possessed rythm's being pushed by Eazy E. This album was/is the shit.
Jay-Z - The Black Album. I'm not a big fan a Jay-Z. I'm in the category he thinks he's always been extremely overrated. He seemed to have a few real good songs on every album. But the Black album seemed to be the peak of his rap success and it did not disappoint. The whole album is good all the way thru and I always wondered why people seemed to think the Blueprint or Reasonable Doubt were better.
Yelawolf - 0-60 Trunk Muzik. By for the biggest breath of fresh air maybe ever. This is the shit that got the Eminem co-sign and every single track on this thing is dope. But this album and his style seems to be shunned by trend Ridin stuck up poppy fans who only like swag and plastic bracelets.
Mac Mall - Untouchable. One of 2Pacs favorite rappers who was featured on All Eyez On Me. This guy and this album was the epitome of a hustler Growin up in Cali in it's golden era. You have party tracks but more than that you have the reflection of the real. Involved in the Romper room Bank heists twice covered on Unsolved Mysteries.Mac Dre was the predecessor Mac Mall.
Twista - Adrenaline Rush. After Twista reinvented his style and blew everyone away on Do or Die's Picture This album..everyone was was waiting for this dynamic flow and he did not disappoint. Adrenaline Rush seems to take alot of Flavor from the LA sound sampling lots of Dre tracks. Twista's second verse on Adrenalin is probably still the mist impressive delivery I've ever heard to this day. With track like Emotions and Get it Wet he could cross over and have ladies buyin his album but could still keep his independent gangsta fanbase with tracks like Overdose and Unsolved Mysteries. This album is treasured in my collection.
Brotha Lynch Hung - Loaded. At the time when everyone loved Master P and No Limit records there was a guy who kept having the best tracks on P's album. After he did Situation on Dirty on the Bout It Sndtrck and That's what I Said on West Coast Bad Boyz vol2 Master P tried signing Lynch. Lynch turned him down but than recieved 25k on one more track he produced on Mr Servins album called It's Real. Not too long after Snoop tried signing Lynch but was again turned down. One of the few artists to go Gold independently on the West Coast, Loaded is the most polished album I've ever heard. They went back in over and over and over polishing and perfecting. I've played this album a thousand times and I still hear new things and sounds in the background Everytime. Def the best rap weed smokin album of all time.
50cent - GRODT tho one of the most popular albums ever when it came out people don't seem to talk about it or give 50 his dues no more. Dr. dre said that the beats on this album were soppose to be for Detox. All the way thru this shut delivers. I miss the old 50 when he was really raw before he turned into a braggart ass troll. This album delivered.
E 40 - In A Major Way. Treasured on the west and hated on the East this album is one of the largest releases on the west independently ever. Features from 2Pac,Mac Mall,CBo this album had all the best in the game at the time on it. Mobb beats from Sam Bostic and Mike Mosely were the style of production PAC said he wanted with All Eyez On Me and that's exactly what he did and this is exactly where it came from. This album was dope all the way through and only got better in the end.
Three 6 Mafia - World Domination Ch2. Riding on the high from the song Late Nite Tip which was getting major exposure this follow up did not dissapoint. 22tracks which was unheard of at that time this thing was packed full of masterful production from DjPaul and Juicy J that seemed to go on forever. You felt like you got your money's worth with this one. This same year they also did Prophet Posse Body Parts and The Kaze's Timez Up. The production in these albums are Juicy J and Dj Paul in they're prime before they started doin the commercial track like Sippin on sizzurp and such. This was the good stuff.

^Who the hell underrates those albums? Especially number 4... wtf?
It'd be like me saying Clipse - Lord Willin'. No one underrates that album, I just listen to it more than most people.
Anyways, the album for me that always comes to mind is Black Rob - The Black Rob Report.
some of the albums mentioned seem to be rated as classics or near classic albums, but just don't seem to be brought up or mentioned much...does that still make it underrated? cause in that case i may have to change my list
the sun rises in the east - jeru the damaja
critical beatdown - ultramagnetic mcs
southernplayalisticadilacmuzik - outkast (everyone mentions aquemini, stankonia and atliens as being their best albums, personally i thought southernplaya was their best)
uptown saturday night - camp lo
don cartegena - fat joe
watermelon, chicken and gritz - nappy roots
dah shinin - smif n wessun
soul food - goodie mob
supreme clientele - ghostface killah (an example of an album most people agree is classic, but i don't see it getting mentioned very often)
