This is a discussion on Big L vs Lil Wayne within the Hip-Hop Central forums, part of the Hip-Hop Central category; lol @ likeing BIG L
but not wayne
these niggaz be havin me crackin up
wayne jus got tHAT much ...
ill say based on my stats im the most gangsta person in hip hop central and im not even hard. i dont sell drugs and i go to college.
but ill get gully on any of you lames. you dumbass lames never seen anything illegal in there lives. this is life, this music speaks to people who arent cut from your cloth.
the urban ethnic youth decides what hip hop matters. its not about race, its more about where you from. major states and cities urban areas. fuck off lame
lil wayne has is speaking for what happens in the streets. and you are an idiot if you gonna say lil wayne isnt plugged. birdman put him on and he has a lot of money that nigga cant be killed he has bloods and goons around him all the time.
Lol @ this. As far as speaking for what happens in the streets, there were several videos posted on this very site that showed REAL o.g.'s destroying all of Wayne's fabricated claims. If he's so connected, how come he didn't start blastin' off when 40 Glocc pulled his card, when he had two Escalades full of people. Nope, he didn't do shit besides flip open his phone and call the cops. Word, that's what you do when your crew is full of goons.
You probably believe Johnny Depp is a pirate in real life too.

wayne is what a rapper is. theres a difference for being a rapper in the 2000s and a poltical classic rock singer or whatever.
So then why did you make the comparison you fuckwit.
Quote:
this is life here. why make sad music all the time. thats not what hes here for, even though he has made great songs himself about gangsta shit. this is life you bitch ass lame you dont do shit in upstate new york. i can say im more gangsta than your pussy ass.
Lmao at this is life here. You grew up in the burbs phony. You don't know what "life here," is, as proof of your ignorance, you think that Lil Wayne is being honest on his records.
And one more lol @ the rest of what you said.
I actually sold drugs, got arrested for it, got kicked outta high school, one of my close family friends was murdered over some triflin' ass dumb hood shit. I been through it. I actually went through the shit that Wayne lies about. The difference is, because I went through it and saw it first hand, I don't see a need to glorify or perpetuate it.
Real mother fuckers don't respect Lil Wayne as a person. Period....

maybe if you arent a rich white lame or sheltered prick then i wouldnt think you would know about living in the slums as a black person. black people decide what hip hop is good. deal with it.
I'm not. I grew up IN THE PROJECTS. You grew up in the burbs. Jack-ass...

40 glocc cant rap this good though
its more about the music than anything
hell rell, jadakiss, bump j, 2pac, etc etc theres a lot of hard rappers and they also make great music
but they are so gangsta it wouldnt make sense for them to do some of the things wayne does
so cause wayne is more of a small, high pitched voice, out going and funny guy and could rap then whats the problem?
this isnt a tough guy contest
but when i say im more hard than you is cause im just showing you an exmple that your bitch, cause im not even hard. but id still smack you up
Sorry some of us have standards for the music we listen to Donn, not all of us just eat shit up because someone old ass ******* record label owner called someone hip-hop...

What I don't understand is where people get off calling him versatile or lyrically significant.
I listen to some dumb shit as well but I'm not gonna go outta my way to justify it, I'll just say I dig it even though it's some dumb shit...
Radio friendly or not, this is a cool concept to me -
...so's this, and most Weezy fans hate the Carter III (I like it though) -
- He rips any beat he gets on... and does shit like this just for fun -
- does straight no hook, murder verses like this -
...even though Pac did something much more important, introspective, and memorable with the track, I can't front on that whole verse. It's not "dead in the middle of little italy" but what is?
...even stuff like the way he handles this -
- seems like a sonically conceptual song, and creative to me. It's something I wish Busta Rhymes would have done with the Woohah intro (previous track outro) instead of cutting straight to the master mix when the track actually started.
I used to hate Weezy during the whole Cash Money era. It just wasn't my scene and I was coming off shit like Wu-Tang Forever, Steal This Album, This or That etc... but a friend put me onto Carter II when it leaked and I was shocked. I remember telling my cousin that the new Lil Wayne album was actually pretty god damn nice, and he just gave me a dumb look like "are you serious?!"
