Why is Gucci getting all thse guest spots?
I truly can not understand why this guy is blowin up and getting all these guest spots now. 50 got him on his new song, apparently Game's new single got him too.

I listen to his shit cause I am trying to figure out if I am missing something, but everything I listen to of his to just sounds like a youtube rapper wrote it. Even that song he just released with Drake. Comparing him and Drake is like night and day.

Constant mixtape exposure, then he was on the Obsessed remix giving him a different kind of exposure, and MTV said he was hot right now... so business dictates to business minded rappers to pay this guy for a guest spot so that they're part of the current scene.

It's like fashion... if models are wearing trash bags with the arms cut out, then celebrities on the red carpet are going to have a $30,000 trash bag purse, and then chicks in the street will be rocking imitation trash bag shoes they boosted from JC Penny.



Plus, really... right now Gucci is filling a niche that nobody else is. It might be an ignorant or simple one, but he wears the suit well and ya know... he's not far removed from being in the Too $hort category for this generation of kids.

Gucci Mane is blowing up for the same reason I think Hurrican Chris and Soulja Boy have blown up. Because rap has gotten to the point where innovations and originality have kinda peaked. There's not a lot you can do with rap now that hasn't already been done. So it's now easier for mediocre or average rappers to blow up now when they wouldn't have blown up in the 90's when lyricism was still being innovated. If this was 1993 many people woulnd't be feeling Gucci Mane because of all the better $hit that was coming along.

Gucci is real big but he hasnt sold shit yet.
