Anyone have an idea how long it takes to heal from a slight tear?

5 days ago I felt something go in my right shoulder while I was doing free weight excercises. I broke my form and twisted my shoulder at an akward angle - tried to compensate and viola.

I haven't worked out since, because I don't want to aggravate it and end up making it much worse. But I maybe I can work through it, if I don't do any lifts that would strain the muscle, like maybe bench etc?

usually injuries like that take up to 3 weeks or longer to heal...I wouldn't recommend you doing vigorous workouts, however, I'd probably advise you to use one of the elastic bands, and start flexing that part of the muscle....
