Try just doing body squats for a bit. Then try a knee brace when lifting. Then try fish oil and glucosamine/chondroitin.

also, you want to make sure when you do your squats your feet are parallel to one another and your heels dont come off the ground, that'll fuck your knees up. i used to do it like that and this trainer told me about it and i noticed a big difference. but i would take time off if its real bad.

my knees get blasted doing squats from time to time, i just suck it up. but yeah you can grab some knee braces specifically for squatting which may help.

and please tell me im reading this wrong but are you squatting 110lbs @240lbs bodyweight??

its better he starts light....

anyway...you probably are squatting incorrectly...

before you pull the bar out you should pull your shoulder blades together tightly and brace your abs, making them tight like somebody just punched you in the stomach...

set your feet in a good athletic position...you can point your toes outward too..

then when you squat you want the bar over the middle of your foot at all times, but dont look down at your feet look straight ahead...

if the bar moves forward or backwards than you are not squatting correctly...when you go up you should drive with your hips...sometimes people push with their legs, but than the bar moves foward...if you drive with your hips you will move straight up...

and a lot of times the reason people's knees hurt is because their ankle flexibility is horrible...so it puts tremendous pressure on the knee...the only method i've seen to fix this is to practice squatting without shoes on...

ive heard putting weights like the 5lb ones under the heels helps with taller people to get the knees further out which in turn helps relieve tension, never tried it myself though.

yeah thats because of the ankle flexibility issue...

another trick is to hold a dumbbell out in front of you with both hands and squat....most people can squat a lot easier when doing this, but when they have a barbell on their back they tend to fall over...so my advice is still work on the form...even if its an empty barbell...especially since your tall its going to be hard to learn how to squat...but its better to do it right than wrong...
