Winter GRB Rd. 3: The Poetic Cesar vs DZK


- $1000.00 prize money will be donated by NDesigns Screen Printing

GRB - Winter Grand Royal Audio Battle 2006 Rules - Third Round
- First Round Audios are DUE Wednesday Night February 7th at 11.59 pm cst. Theme: up to 2-3+ Minutes must be about your opponent(s)
- You must mention their BOARD name(s). Must be atleast 2 minutes.
- If audio is not two minutes, you must contest it if you want a DQ.
- One mp3 File Must Be posted Wednesday Night February 7th at 11.59 pm cst.- We will not store any audio files.
- YOU MUST post using your board name that is registered to the match. Others will be DQ'ed.
- Voting for Semis will start once all verses are up.
- Voting links will be posted and votes will be shown.
- No Comments allowed on battle post until voting links are posted.
- Can post videos
- Can sitdown to record before DZK's legs give out from the tremendous pressure.

i peeped DZKs verse first and after hearing i thought, 'dope flow, dope beat' and weak as hell lyrics and pretty much concluded DZK was going to lose because i assumed by now all the good lyricists would be in this shit, then i heard Sal's verse and it was even worse lyrically then DZKs, weak battle overall just due to the lyrics kids, DZK got it based on flow, beat and delivery...

DZK in my opinion didn't go as hard as I was expecting, but he got it. his flow is always smooth as fuck, and his punches were clever, but I was expecting a shit load of crazy punches...

Sal, you came a lot better than I was expecting, and your flow was nice, but your lack of multi's just doesn't get it going. your punches were nice, but no stand out lines. regardless of the fact that I really don't like you, props.

Most of DZ's attacks were indirect, and the way he disses for the most part has always been that way. Added to that, a story of some sort. So it's usually more entertaining to say the least. When you listen to a DZK diss track, you know he's more of a song writer than anything else. Which is a good thing, cause most diss tracks nowadays just consists of an artists' vocals over some random online beat, without much thought other than to throw a million punchlines.

I'm a fan of Sal's music [although I admit i'm a bigger fan of DZ's music], so it's hard for me to say this... but he just didn't capture my interest in this round. Again, it just sounds like he threw on a beat and rapped over it, while DZ's always sounds like he plans how he's going to execute. On top of that, most of Sal's lines were basically lines we've heard from DZ, but trying to mimic him in a way and I think it was the wrong thing to do in order to win this tourny. It just felt more like 'biting' more than anything else.

I can't vote, but I think it's obvious how the outcome should look. But then again, i've seen some fucked up shit happen during these battles.
