EA isn't exactly strong right now. Their licensed games aren't selling as well, their sports games short of NHL 09 are pathetic and more and more they have to rely on buying out actually successful devs to keep a profit rolling in. Not to mention their stock prices have went from around 60 bucks a pop to as low as 10 to 15. That's called a freefall. They're still huge but when you shake up your hierarchy the way they are, in a business sense that never happens for a good reason. These are just face value moves, aimed at impressing people who know who these guys are. They're just talking heads.
I have a feeling MS didn't feel the need to keep them around. If they did I'd bet they could've offered something a little more lucrative to do so, but they see no need. I guess it makes sense doesn't it? Even away from the games, EA is still committed to flash over content. Last edited by Cane; 07-10-2009 at 07:00 PM. |

I'd say it's a tie, w/ Microsoft gaining ground in recent years.
However, dont count EA out of the game, they're awesome too:))
