If you played Final Fantasy XII...
was it any good?

I haven't really been a gamer for the past couple of years, but I'm a fan of the FF series. Anywho, let me know how it stacks up.

I haven't touched 11 either, but it sounds just plain silly.

i'm currently playing it. personally, i feel it starts off kinda slow but, it picks up and becomes very fun very fast.

Didnt feel epic enough to me. Usually its save the world while traveling it type stuff, here you never left the 2 or 3 countries. Even though 10 probably had less area it felt bigger to me cause it covered a continent. Other than that it was a good experience, main story was kinda easy as was the ability to power level but there were a few optional bounties of hard bosses. But it is a SqaureEnix game so production levels were way up there and there CG is some of the best out there.

Yeah, I love both. Especially VII.

I was reading about the battle system on wiki, and I like the idea of removing the random battles so long as it's done correctly.

FFX was ok...storyline was the only thing holding me on till the end, because the battles became incredible tedious.

skipped XI, it's a waste of time. so i've heard and read.

FFXII was better than X overall...definitely better battle system and game play, but the story was sub par, it lacked emotion... it wasn't quite the epic saga that was X. actually, i haven't finished the game. i'm sure i'm towards the end, but i'm finding it a bit bothersome to play...i don't care how it ends. it almost feels like a chore.

i'm about 20 hours into this now.

the new battle system are great, i think that's the main thing it has over FFX and other previous games other than graphics.

the characters are poorly developed so far, and even though the fighting itself is great, the characters are way too interchangeable. it doesn't really matter who you have on the team as long as you fill in the license board. they should have had the characters start in different areas of the board, like with FFX.

i like the gambit system. the story is not as interesting as previous ones yet, either.

some of the areas are huge though, you can spend hours just wandering around the desert fighting the same 3 or 4 enemies. which can get tedious even with a great battle system.

i think if they keep this battle system and go back to good characters and story, the next one will be the best in the series.

12 is basically the same combat system in 11. They tried to give it a more MMoRPG feel, but offline.
Very nice. And I'm very disappointed you haven't tried this out. You of all people, who got me interested in FF again.

i never played 11, saw a lot of mixed reviews about that one.

i actually haven't played any RPGs online yet.

I stopped playing FF12 for a while to play Ultimate Spiderman and God of war.
