Anyone Recycled A Car?

If you've ever took an old non running car to a recycle center how much did you get for the car's scrap metals?

Which replacement parts is there a demand for?

I was told to consider taking off the parts to my old car that are in demand as replacement parts then take the rest of the metals of the car to the recycling center. I can get more money overall for the car this way than by selling the car intact. So does anyone know which parts would be worth taking off? I plan on selling them on eBay.

1st off, take the converter off, jus cut it off dont worry bout being neat bout it.. the copper or platinum inside it is all they want, youll get about $70 for it alone, unless its a big suv n you can pull upto $150ish..

then the car, take off any new expensive peices an sell them in the local paper or craigslist..

then for the car itself, youll get about $150 for a car an $200 for a van or suv..

so with that, you can make about 2 ta 3 bills with it, maybe more if you got good parts off it to sell..

id advise you wait til metal goes back up an youll be able to double that..
might have to hold it a year but itll be more worth it..
