GodDAYUM! I remember hearing that this battle was dope, especially Ill Will's performance. People were saying he had a real veteran presence, and I definitely agree with that. You can tell that both guys were not rookies at all, but Will had that OG swag. I had him winning, but Johnie held his own for sure. This was a nice step up from the QP battle, which is the only time I'd seen him before this. This was my first time watching Ill Will battle, but I'll be checking for him from now on, no doubt. He really has his own style, which is saying a lot with the way that so many people in battle rap seem to do the same things. Good shit, URL. Proving Grounds have shown to have the best quality of up-and-comer battle platforms, and some of the battles on these cards could fit right in the middle of a main stage event too.
It'd be nice to get some more PGs battles to come out. Shit like Dirt vs Nuborn, I don't know why some of the unreleased battles stay that way. I get the "quality control" thing, so there's definitely going to be battles that shouldn't be released. But everyone that was there and had something to say about the Dirt battle said that he killed it, so unless Nuborn pulled a Jack Shitt on him, I don't see how it wouldn't be worth releasing. Eh, whatever...at least they decided to release this joint.

I haven't read this whole thread, but I'll answer this for you. This battle happened a while ago, it was on the same day as JC vs Chilla Jones. These battles were from the weekend of Summer Madness 2, I think the night before it. So yeah, while the bars may sound a bit dated now, they were fresh at the time (hence the big reaction they got).
^Same sneaker spot that they're battling it, same people at the battle (minus Smack, who I don't think was there for JC/Chilla but hosted Ill Will/Johnny). Same day.
I like how every one was saying will killed jonnie and all that, he really didn't I can see where people feel Will won and I can where people may think johhny got em also it was a pretty good battle. Both of them gained respect for eachother you can see how they reacted to eachother bars Ill will vs Danja zone and Jonnie vs Lotta Zay would be dope
