No More Judged Battles, Enter Leagues
first, if you have 2v2 or 1v1 championship then whatever obviously that has to be judged, as dumb as it is, but that has to be judged.
okay now to the whole point of me being on point....
lets get this biggest picture out of the way, battlers don't like to lose...why do you think when all these url (an unjudged league) go elsewhere they request unjudged? it doesnt matter to them, if its unjudged them and their fanbase can say they won and be happy about it, because thats how it is even if they lose except they get more pissed if its judged and they lose.
secondly, do you leagues like getting these little faggots complaining about robberies? honestly ive heard enough bitching about this DF 4th birthdays judging to last me a lifetime... @ Organik @eurgh @ KingFly besides title or significant reasons, what justifies judging? is judging random ass battles worth these morons complaining on RM, OTBVA, YOUTUBE, and any other website?
look at 24/7 for a perfect example, he was one of the best writers in kotd and got robbed BAD and pretty much fell out of love with the shit and even said he gets robbed in numerous battles...one of the best writers from kotd stopped battling and one of the reasons was judging (which is wack but still)
there is no need for judging battles, if you people enjoy performances on an unjudged battle they make it known through comment or on a forum and that should be it....

can u add a poll of what people think, should ask if battles should be judged with options being yes or no
maybe if the majority goes to no we can get somewhere with this

Yea i'll add a poll if everyone votes that battles shouldn't be judged
I asked the local kotd admin why my battle had to be judged and he said it was so that "everyone brings their A game and takes it seriously"
I disagree, battles would be way better if they weren't judged

good point, people who aren't "battle heads" wanna see a decisive winner and loser
But for someone whose watched many battles, they're opinion holds almost as much weight (at least in their minds) as the selected judges

Voted no, too much bs.
It does suck though that idiots like arsonal can go parading saying they're undefeated when they're clearly not..

The only thing someone would say to respond to that is something like (hypothetical) "Yo this guy ______ was the 2nd most downloaded artist in Calgary for TWO YEARS. He can't suck as a judge." To 99% of the viewers on youtube these people with "stripes" who are given the right to judge seem unworthy. Maybe having more battlers judging would make their opinions seem more valid (I've never disagreed with a Knamelis decision and Soul Khan as a judge at World Domination 2 was surprisingly good).

battle rap is a competitive "sport" (i use that word loosely for lack of a better term).
you wouldnt have a football game that didnt count the score in the end, and just like shitty ref calls, there are shitty battle judgements.
plus you can't have a title without having records and the title isnt going anywhere.
the thing is people KNOW beforehand that KOTD tries to have as many judged battles as possible, so its not like its a surprise the day of a battle. People accepted the battle knowing its on KOTD where most battles are judged.
I understand some of the battlers not liking it, because lets be honest, everyone usually thinks they won even if they clearly lost, very few battlers ever admit defeat
in the end of the day, nothings going to change other than perhaps judging happening in more battles tbh

I think this is overblown
it only seems this way because the promo league (url) has more battlers who never admit defeat, but I think there's a lot more to it than just the promo (the exclusivity of the organization, the regional bias/repping of cities, the fact that they rarely choke, etc.)

Agreed..
I used to prefer judged but not anymore
Other than the frequent misjudged battles, judging a battle right off the bat without watching it again is pretty difficult and I can't blame a judge if they fuck up a really close call

In my league i'm not doing any judged battles....unless it's for bread, title etc....battles shouldn't be judged at all....to many times live you would say _______ won the battle....then when you watched the footage....this bar & that bar went over your head from the other dude etc....footage usually looks different on playback....and at that point it's to late to reverse a decision....so I agree....no judges is def the way to go moving forward...

I actually agree. I don't think ANY battle should be judged live, unless it's for a title, to get to a title, to keep a name, or for money. I like the viewers at home to be able to debate who they felt won a battle freely.
The biggest battles in the YouTube era (Con/Ars, Hollow/Pass, Lux/Cal, Diz/DNA, etc.) were not judged.
