LOL....I have been a fan since 95, but I can see how some people probably can't get into his style. It is hella unorthodox.

On some tracks, he does seem to be offbeat, but definitely not every track. When he is offbeat, it's listenable to me because he's either sayin somethin funny, or he's just talkin fast as hell to where it doesn't even seem like he's rappin. He definitely rides the beat, hard as hell at that, when he wants to. On "Automatic", some people might think he's off beat, but he's killin the hell outta the structure with the flow he uses on it. Same as on Muscle cars, he's on beat the whole time, he just goes fast as hell at some parts. You can't tell me he's off beat on Tell me when to go, Yay Area, or U and dat.

His personality alone makes him a top notch rapper...not just the slang, but just his overall presense and what he has to say.

2.) I dont like E-40s latest contribution compared to an album like Self Made Millionare. However E-40 has a unique style. He doesnt ride quarter notes or 8th notes, so for most people his loose triplets seem off beat, its not though your ear is just used to rappers rapping to the snare all the time, and when someone wants to rap differently you cant handle it. Folks complained the same way about now washed up ass rapper Knocturnal cause he rapped to the kicks and not the snares, which made him seem off beat. As far as his album being the hottest of this year, thats subjective, if you like it you like it, and if you dont you dont. There hasnt been one album besides TI's shit this year that I have liked production wise and lyrically. E-40s new album is too much of the same ass shit, boom clap boom clap hyphy shit. Im not a fan of hyphy, but im not gonna get into responsibility and all that shit, thats a moral issue. But with that being said, E-40s shit is selling well, he is getting recognition, and I respect that, he has paid his dues, remained loyal to his turf and he is getting his bread! But just like when Outkast went pop, Im not listening to that shit.
