advice on the mixing and/or quality of audio

I would appreciate any suggestions or advice to improve the mixing and/or quality of the vocals/songs..

here's some samples..

http://www.soundclick.com/util/strea...D=1653255&q=Hi (oldest sample)

http://www.soundclick.com/util/strea...D=1653277&q=Hi

http://www.soundclick.com/util/strea...D=1698600&q=Hi (newest sample)

or even if one of the samples above sounds better to ur ears than the others, let me know which.. they were "mixed" (and i use that term loosely) differently...

btw, just in case anyone's wondering what equipment i have..

Rode NT1000 condensor mic
Aphex Aural Exciter 204 (used seldomly - normally on bypass)
FMR RNC compressor
Grace 101 pre-amp
EMU-1212m soundcard
Mackie 624 monitors
Mogami Gold cables
Nuendo / CEP

i appreciate any and all constructive criticism, and if u have any suggestions on improving anything, i would appreciate it.

Vocals hiss on your S's and T's. Maybe your hi's are too high, lower your 5 k a bit. and mess with some other high frequencies, or maybe even add a boost in your low mids ... You can tell your gettin a good sound, but the vocals sound a bit thin and hissy.

thx for all the above suggestions..

n deathtrap: i'm not really sure why having pro tools would make me "good to go" ... especially if i don't get the 2000 dollar work station that goes along with the full version of pro tools..

i record mostly with nuendo..

and anyhow.. here's also hoping that AON sees this and has time to drop some feed too.. (yeah, as along with everyone here, i do respect ur professional opinion on these type of matters).

and also, wondering if the last link i dropped sounds "mixed" better than the others.. and by last link i mean this one...

http://www.soundclick.com/util/strea...D=2037732&q=Hi

and if not this one, i would appreciate u letting me know which song sounds best "mixed" so i can get an idea, since i tried different things with each song (but i guess ur supposed to do that tho)..
