aight yall always madd helpful in here!! gott a couple questions for the knowledge'd

ight i just copped my blue dragonfly thing looks nasty im in love already with the sexy thing and havent even used it im hopein on good things..any how...

i planned on copping the grace 101 to compliment this beast..i was just wondering if there a better one for this perticular mic or one that will accomadate it better? if not i prolly will stick to my guns and copp the grace...and is i go with the grace would probly be better to copp the higher range one? not sure cause theres 2 different types...figured the higher range one would maybe just give me a lil more headroom...dunno...

and second question is im useing,at this point a delta 44 BUT been hearing alot of this emu 1212m i believe is the model and is around the same price is as the delta would it be in my best intrest to dropp the delta and pick up an emu or just stick to what im workin with???

any one that can help me out with these couple questions would be highly apreeshiated...

pzzzzzz

The Grace 101 extended is for ribbon mics (thanks to whoever pointed this out to me, AON makes mistakes sometimes too).
See, a pre doesn't really compliment the mic, they work together.
Different pre's, give the mic a different sound.
The Grace is a good bet, if you want a nuetral, what you spit is what you get sound.

As far as the E-Mu, it's ABOVE ANY Delta series card, kids should toss those old ass Delta's, and get the E-Mu, because these are the cards to beat.

ridd...
glad you got ya dragonfly... i didnt think of this at first but you got it used didnt you? im kinda worried bout that cuz if it was not taken care of really well the diaphram could be loose or some shit.. that would make it easy to peak it... i say this cuz i ran into this prollem with our baby bottle... we had to send it back to the factory cuz z was in the booth clownin on the mic, freestylin, gettin crunk and rappin all loud in the mic, movin the pop filter out the way and still rappin... it loosened the diaphram and then when you got loud on the mic, you could hear it peakin.. the shit was horrible
anyway
when you get it, remember the closer you get the warmer you sound will be, if you angle the ball upward towards your forehead it'll pick up more of the highs in ya voice, downward toward ya chest is more bass...
dont be afraid to try shit wit this mic.. you gotta find ya spot... also its real sensitive, so if you ever hear it peak, that means you need to turn your pre wayyyy down... i set it to where i can rap about 2 inches away from the ball.. it works for me, but others sound better with it other ways...

I think I pointed that out about the grace standard vs. extended version after emailing with a rep at Grace Designs..

so yeah, don't get the extended version, it just has the frequencies shifted up.. you won't get more headroom...it's actuallly only ideal if you have a ribbon mic (which I'd think very few of us have for our purposes).. otherwise, get the standard version.. i think it's a common misconception that the extended version has more headroom...

i got the grace and i'm real happy with it. and i got the rnc too which i also love. i'm getting a bit of echo cuz of my room set up but i'm trying to fix that with foam.. after i get my shit straight, i'll post up a sample on here..
