Ray my homeboy uses reason to make his beats, and he makes decent stuff but I always have a complaint about his basses cause either they are too bubbly and techno sounding, or just too thin sounding, do you have any suggestions on how to make good bass sounds in Subtractor. Keep in mind we are doing west coast style beats, I dont know much about reason but if you could drop some knowledge on some good presets or methods on how to create some ill joints i can pass it to my homeboy and help him out. Thanks

Assuming your homeboy knows about Reason, I will cut thru the chase....check out post 48 of this thread. There I broke down all the mono synths use in the Reason bank...another technique to use is to create the bassline, then copy the bassline, drop it one octave and place it over the original bassline for a thicker sounding bass fit for west coast tracks.......

^^^ The monosynths that you broke down tho aren't the basses I'm talkin about tho...I'm talkin about the basses that's really low sounding and give the song the main thump...
Kinda like the bass in this song (the best example I could think of right now)

Thats just fingerbass, you can select that on the NN-19, lower the polyphony to 1

Yes. goto
File---Self Contain Settings---Check All
Send him the file
He can add all his files to it and do the same, from there you two can go back and forth collaborating...

It depends on your style of music. Not using okkster is the same as having Reason 1.0...I recommend getting the full product though....

Only limitation you have, that I can think of is not being able to use the okester soundbank...but that just a guess at best...dont know what other limitations you may with your version.

Yo
How do u construct the whole beat on the track.
How do u make it different for where the chorus is and where the verse is?

Is the sequencer different from where you paste the pattern to the track...
Yo Some one else tell me a more detail way to do it....cuz I can't figure it out....
This is what I did:
1- I pasted the devices to the track....
2- I tried moving those pieces around...when I moved them...it didnt really sound different...
HELP ME OUT!
