well i used a few different type of strings. The main ones in the intro and most of the beat came from Sindustry's orchestral refill and i used some other ones and i used an accordian layered with strings and they just came out that way. People are always asking how i get good strings and get good phat westcoast noises or whatever but alot of it has to do with how there played and arranged rather then the sound

A lot of people could use Sindustry's Orchestrial Refill....ahem ahem...

And yes, I do need some help in making g-funk synths and lead sounds...So far, all my beats are coming out dark and grimey, and I'm trying to go after the commercial, mainstream sound....

Giga is as about as real as you can get if you are into live playing or R&B, but if you're going to make hip hop beats...the Reason bank or even the Akai Grand piano are just as good with a smaller footprint...I dont know too many people who have lots of memory to load up the giga 130+mb file and still load up other instruments and effects....

I listened to it.....
Its sounds like he uses a lot of layers to pitch bend is easy....very easy if you have a pitch bend on your key board, a little more cumbersome if your are programming it by mouse....
It sound like he is just using simple pitch bends with a range of 12

Load up NN-19
Load up Accoustic Guitar
Select HP 12 on the NN-19
On the MIXER
Change TREBLE to 40
Change BASS to -40
Load up RV-7 under the NN-19

If its too low, then you need to change the dynamics of your mix....
try cutting levels of other instros to gain some headroom
or add a COMP-01 module to that NN-19
