Hitman isnt to far from the truth.....I recommend checking some midi sequences of popular orchestra titles and learn from there..I find the strings refill and orchestra CD more enough for elaborate string melodies.......

The NN-XT chapter in the manual has tons good info...one of best features is the ability to group sounds together and create layered sound...work great when combining a piano with a bass......

I doubt it, just to implement that feature, would make Reason slower......its already managing 25 different types of modules.....
At this point, I would like them to fine tune the features they have already instead of working on new ones.......

Use the NN-19 for small task like playing refills and other file formats
Use the NN-XT for complex task like creating layered instruments, creating custom drum kits, for vocals...the possibilities are endless with this module.....and you need this module to play the new soundbank file format sxt
The onboard compressor module is very effective, although short the manual adequately explains how to get the most out of it.

whats the best piano refil about?
teh best i've found so far is giga piano and that's about 135mb or somethign (despite being called 1gb gran piano etc)
i want the best piano sounds available - good enough to rival decently priced digital pianos. i aim to buy a full weighted hammer action master controller and need sounds which are up to teh job.

It would less difficult to read chapter 15, than for me to fully explain how this module works....in summary...Use the NN-XT for customizing and fine tuning sounds from all types of formats to create customize key ranges, multilayer instruments...this what you want to play with when you feel like your sounds are starting to get 'old'..my fav combo is the piano/bass/string....Trust me...this is easy to do and you'll be making a customize 'sound' to your music....good example of this would be Sol
give it a shot....
